Main Line Health hospitals nationally recognized for quality performance and patient safety
Bryn Mawr Hospital, Paoli Hospital and Riddle Hospital received a top grade of ‘A’ with Lankenau Medical Center receiving a grade of ‘B’ in the just released Spring 2022 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. The Hospitals are graded on quality and safety — a national distinction that recognizes hospitals’ achievements in protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. Twice a year, the Leapfrog Group assigns grades of A, B, C, D and F to roughly 2,600 general acute care hospitals nationwide. The grades are based on a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harm to patients in their care. Developed under the guidance of a national Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a composite score consisting of up to 27 national performance metrics of patient safety measures. Its methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and results are free to the public.
“These grades continue to reflect our longstanding commitment to patient safety and quality enhancement and we’re extremely proud to have once again received this top recognition. Our hospitals are committed to ensuring the safety of our patients and staff with process improvement tools in place to continually enhance outcomes in measurable ways. I am confident in Lankenau’s ability to provide the highest quality of care as it continues its upward trajectory in positively impacting future safety grades,” says Jack Lynch, III, President and Chief Executive Officer at Main Line Health.
