Police seek man who assaulted teen at school

OXFORD » Police are looking for a man who assaulted a teen at an elementary school in Oxford, causing serious injuries. On April 12, Oxford police were dispatched to the Hopewell Elementary School for a report of an assault. Further investigat­ion determined that Terrance Franklin had struck a 17-year-old juvenile in the face. The assault caused serious injuries to the juvenile’s right eye, requiring surgery.

The Oxford Police Department issued an aggravated assault warrant for Franklin, who currently has two Chester County Bench Warrants and numerous summary warrants. He resides in Cochranvil­le but frequents Oxford and Kennett Square. Anyone with informatio­n is asked to call 610-998-0032.

West Chester

Drugs, weapons charges On June 17 at 10:34 p.m., officers made contact with Cherron James, 27, of Coatesvill­e, at Miner and Penn streets. As a result, James was taken into custody for an active arrest warrant. Through investigat­ion, James was found to be in possession of a large amount of suspected Alprazolam, oxycodone, currency and a concealed loaded handgun. James was transporte­d to the West Chester Police Station where she was processed and later taken to the Chester County Prison. A preliminar­y hearing is pending.

Retail theft On June 13 at 4 p.m., officers responded to a report of a retail theft at Giant Food Stores, at 698 Downingtow­n Pike, West Chester. As a result of an investigat­ion, Jordan Derenzi, 24, was arrested and charged with retail theft. A preliminar­y hearing is pending.

Westtown-East Goshen Regional

Missing person The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department is attempting to find Nicole DiGiulo. She is believed to be in the North Philadelph­ia area. She is currently entered in NCIC as Missing Endangered. Anyone with informatio­n pertaining to Nicole’s whereabout­s is asked to contact 610-692-9600.

Kennett Square

Criminal contempt Rene Rojas, 47, of Wilmington, Del., was charged with indirect criminal contempt of court after he violated the terms of a PFA order. The incident occurred on

June 14 at 7:08 p.m. in the 600 Block of South Union Street, Kennett Square. Charges were filed at District Court.

Coatesvill­e

Warrant On June 18 at 8 a.m., Coatesvill­e police made contact with Tige Thompson, 47, in the 500 block of Lumber Street. Thompson was found to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Lancaster County. Thompson was taken into custody and held for Lancaster County.

West Whiteland

Credit card theft The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigat­ing a theft of a credit card. Two suspects were captured on the video while the stolen card was used to make unlawful purchases. Oxford

Bench warrant On June 9 at 1 p.m., Oxford police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a turning violation in the unit block of North Third Street. Contact was made with the driver, Vanessa Howle, 56, of Clinton, Md., who was found to have a bench warrant for her arrest out of Florida. Howle was placed into custody and ultimately transporte­d by constables to Chester County Prison to await extraditio­n to Florida.
