Welcome to Seven in Seven, where each week in this space we’ll be taking a look at shows coming to the region over the next week. As always, whether your musical tastes are rock and roll, jazz, heavy metal, R&B, singer-songwriter or indie, there’ll always be something to check out. Here’s seven of the best on the docket for the very frontloaded week of June 24:

1 Flogging Molly + The Interrupters — Friday at The Mann

It’s a punk rock double bill at The Mann as Flogging Molly teams up with The Interrupters for a co-headlining show. Starting out as the house band for Molly Malone’s in Los Angeles and building a loyal following through endless touring, Flogging Molly has become a staple in the punk scene over the past 20 years, kicking off with their raucous debut album “Swagger” and continuing through additional studio releases, including the upcoming “Anthem.” Formed in 2011, The Interrupters came together when the Bivona brothers — guitarist Kevin Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, drummer Jesse Bivona — found themselves on various bills with Aimee Allen in 2009. Upon bonding over musical tastes, the four formed The Interrupters, with Allen taking on the name “Aimee Interrupter,” and delivered their selftitled debut in 2014.

2 Boys Noize — Friday at The Ave Live

Boys Noize, aka the German-Iraqi DJ and Grammy winner Alex Ridha, brings volume and diversity of under his moniker that has put him in high demand among artists seeking his patented sonic techniques and peerless production. Over the years, he’s worked with

everyone from Frank Ocean and Lady Gaga to Depeche Mode and Rammstein. His latest LP, “‘+/-,” encapsulates a distillation of his career in waveform shape, where valleys of subterranean techno, industrial and house transition into peaks of star-driven collaborations with some of the brightest stars on the electronic music scene.

3 Liily — Friday at Silk City

Liily are four Los Angeles musicians who, up until now, were mostly known for their manic and cacophonous live shows. Those performances, alongside a couple of early singles packaged together into an EP, drove the band to some surprising early successes like performing at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and finding themselves on the cover of Spotify and Apple Music’s major rock playlists. But then, as quickly as they appeared, they seemed to vanish. Almost two years later, and now all of 22 years old, the band have returned with their debut album, “TV or Not TV.” It is a highly aggressive record, even more so than their early work, which should translate well into their live shows.

4 Crown the Empire — Friday at Reverb

Genre-bending metalcore outfit Crown the Empire have steadily established themselves over the past

decade as a force of nature in the rock world, sharing stages with luminaries like A Day to Remember, Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Falling in Reverse, Underoath and more. Their 2019 hit “Blurry (Out of Place)” went to No. 1 on SiriusXM’s Octane and landed on the Big Uns of 2019 list. Now they’re looking back to the past, specifically 2012 to their debut effort, “The Fallout,” which will be played in full at Reverb in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

5 Tash Sultana — Friday at The Fillmore

Tash Sultana, the genderfluid multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, producer and engineer, returns to North America for a headlining tour. This run will see them performing their sophomore album, 2021’s “Terra Firma,” in the region for the first time as well as hits from 2016’s “Notion” EP and and the 2018 fulllength “Flow State,” while also expanding the groove

into new territories. Sultana has remained tightlipped about what the new show will include but has promised it’s an extension of ‘what already is’ and what they are best known for putting on display live.

6 The Stadium Tour — Saturday at Citizens Bank Park

One of the highlights of the summer is undoubtedly “The Stadium Tour” rock spectacular, featuring Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts all on one bill. It’s still early in the tour, only a few dates in, and already the Crue’s Tommy Lee is only doing a partial set on drums due to a rib injury he sustained before the trek started. Who knows what state everyone will be in when the package returns to the region in Hershey come mid-July, so the best bet

is to hit this one up to be safe. Either way, it’s bound to be a night full of hits from the ’80s and ’90s. 7 Speaking of hits from the ’80s and ’90s but pulling them from a completely different spot on the radio dial is “The Mixtape Tour 2022” headlined by New Kids on the Block. Joining the Boston fivesome are Salt-N-Pepa, Rick Astley and En Vogue. Between the four acts are enough familiar songs to keep the audience on their feet for the entire show, so make sure you pack the most comfortable shoes you’ve got if you’re heading down to South Philly for the night.
