Rustin blanks crosstown rival WC East, 3-0

In crosstown rivalry action, West Chester Rustin blanked West Chester East 3-0 in a Ches-Mont girls’ soccer match on Monday. The Golden Knights’ goals were by Amelia Foore, Ellie Keefer and Sarah Johnston. Rustin goaltender­s Morgan O’Donnell and Erika Seelus combined to notch the shutout in wet conditions. AVON GROVE 2, GREAT VALLEY 1 >> MaryKate Walker and Rachel Enache scored as the Red Devils improved to 10-0-1 on the season. Avon Grove will face off with unbeaten Conestoga, the top-ranked team in the district, tonight.

Girls Volleyball

UNIONVILLE 3, BIDHOP SHANAHAN 0 >> The Longhorns improved to 12-0 with straight sets sweep, 25-12, 25-15, 25-12. Delaney McCoy dished out 13 assists and Brianna Miller had 14 kills. Maddy Lowe added nine kills and Jillian Murphy had six kills.

College Women’s Soccer

BRYN MAWR 5, IMMACULATA 1 >> The Mighty Macs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 14th minute of play by freshman Savanna Crowding. But Bryn Mawr would bounce back to tie the contest off a penalty kick in the 28th minute, and then proceeded to score the match’s final four goals.

VIRGINIA UNION 3, LINCOLN 1 >> The Lions suffered a fourset Central Intercolle­giate

Athletic Associatio­n loss (32-30, 25-12, 22-25, 25-15) to Virginia Union inside Manuel Rivero Gymnasium. Junior Erinn Taylor took full advantage of her opportunit­ies with seven kills on 10 attempts and zero errors, while senior Jasmin Lewis was also proficient in her chances with six kills in nine attempts and one error. Sophomore Haley Loper finished with 13 kills on 31 attempts, and junior Erica Taylor added 10 kills on 26 attempts for Lincoln (1-5, 4-8 overall).
