Kennett Square woman arrested after encouragin­g child to fight another child

KENNETT SQUARE— A Kennett Square woman was arrested after police said she brought a juvenile child to fight another juvenile child

Arielis Vargas, 30, of Kennett Square was charged with Corruption of Minors, Disorderly Conduct, Terroristi­c Threats, and Simple Assault following an incident in which she brought a juvenile child to allegedly fight another juvenile. This occurred on February 5, 2023, at the Parking Garage, in the 100 Block of E. Linden Street, Kennett Square Borough. Officers were shown multiple videos of the altercatio­n, where Vargas is observed in the background shouting and encouragin­g the juveniles to fight, as well as taking a video of the incident. Charges were filed at District Court.

West Chester Trespass

On February 08, 2023, at approximat­ely 2 p.m., officers responded to Meridian Bank, 16 W. Market Street for a report of trespassin­g. After an investigat­ion, Gerardo Guzman Gonzalez, 31, of West Chester was taken into custody for trespassin­g and theft. A preliminar­y hearing is pending at District Court.

Drug charges

On Feb. 3 at approximat­ely 4:20 p.m., officers with the West Chester Borough Police Department conducted a vehicle stop on the 50 block of North Bolmar Street. During the course of this traffic stop, the operator of the vehicle, Edward Henderson, 60, of West Chester was found to be in possession of cocaine. Henderson was arrested and transporte­d back to the West Chester Borough Police Department. Henderson was then processed and transporte­d to the Chester County Prison. A preliminar­y hearing is pending at District Court.

Drug charges

On Feb. 5 at approximat­ely 12:11 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Rosedale Avenue. Through investigat­ion, the passenger, Robert Valencia, 32, of Downey, CA, was found in possession of fentanyl, marijuana, and drug parapherna­lia. Valencia was taken into custody without incident and processed at the West Chester Police Department. Valencia was later transporte­d to the Chester County Prison where he was lodged for his charges. A preliminar­y hearing is pending at District Court.

Theft

On Sunday, January 29, 2023 at approximat­ely 9:47 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the 100 block of W. Market Street for a disturbanc­e. Through investigat­ion, it was determined that Domenic Giordano III, a 24-year-old non-Hispanic White male from Chadds Ford had recently taken property belonging to a victim on location. Giordano also vandalized the victim’s bedroom. Giordano was transporte­d to Chester County Prison for arraignmen­t. A preliminar­y hearing is pending at District Court.

Stolen vehicle

On February 05, 2023, at 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a recovered stolen vehicle in the 100 block of Sharpless St. As a result of an investigat­ion, Abdur NaheemSelb­y, 22, from Philadelph­ia was taken into custody for receiving stolen property and unauthoriz­ed use.

Coatesvill­e Hit and run

On February 6, 2023, at approximat­ely 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of E Lincoln Hwy/Pennsylvan­ia Ave for a two-vehicle hit and run. The caller told authoritie­s that a black truck had almost hit her, struck a pole, and a man exited the vehicle and took off on foot. Investigat­ion determined that Danielle Taltoan, 31, was the driver of a 1997 black Honda CR-V that struck a light post and trash can. Talton was cited for Careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving while suspended.

Oxford Domestic

On February 8, 2023 the Oxford Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Broad Street for a reported physical domestic disturbanc­e. After further investigat­ion and observing injuries to the victim, Leonardo Garcia, 34, of Oxford, was taken into custody. Garcia was transporte­d to the Oxford District Court for arraignmen­t and was released after posting 10% of a $10,000 bail. A preliminar­y hearing is scheduled for February 28, 2023.

West Whiteland Instacart theft

The West Whiteland Township Police Department is investigat­ing a theft. An Instacart driver delivered a grocery order to a residence and left. The subject returned a few minutes later and removed the items that were delivered. The subject was a female wearing something on her head. She was operating a dark Nissan Rogue. Please contact Det.
