Coatesvill­e boys lacrosse team rolls to victory

The Coatesvill­e High School boys’ lacrosse team rolled to a 12-5 win against Hatboro Horsham Wednesday. The Red Raiders were led by Owen Ellis (five goals), Derek Cooper (three goals), Jake Van Orden (one goal, four assists) and Magnus Clousser (two goals, three assists).

CONESTOGA 13, PENNSBURY 1 >>

The Pioneers were led by Wade Beckstrom (four goals, two assists), Drew Merschel (four goals, one assist) and the goalie tandem of Mikey Johnson and James McGrath (combined for 11 saves).

BISHOP SHANAHAN 13, DANIEL BOONE 4 >>

Nate Bracken had a hat trick for the Eagles, while Mack Manley, Joe Devine and Declan Miller each scored two goals. Ronan Miller won 14 of 15 faceoffs.

Softball

DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 8, HATBORO HORSHAM 2 >> The Whippets’ offense was led by Emma Ahlborn (3-for-3, four runs scored, home run) and Darby Weller (3-for-4, two RBIs). D-West pitcher Addison Carter allowed only three hits in seven innings, striking out 13 batters.

Boys’ tennis

AVON GROVE 4, WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 3 >> The Red Devils swept the singles matches in straight sets - Jack Perlman (first singles), Joe Ingram (second singles) and Garrett Morris (third singles). Avon Grove also won at first doubles (Mason Walker/ Collin Duff). Henderson won the remaining doubles matches

(Abhi Kandalam/Henry Person, Agastya Singh/ Dylan Fritsch and Max

Cooper/Snehit Shadangi). KENNETT 7, COATESVILL­E 0 >> The Blue Demons were led by straight sets wins from Cooper Seele at first singles, sophomore Logan Leighton at second singles and freshman Will Engle at third singles.

MALVERN PREP 10, UPPER DARBY 0 >> Trey Tiffan had two hits and two RBIs for the victorious Friars. WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 5, SUN VALLEY 4 >> Patrick Lynn knocked in the winning run in top of seventh inning after Andrew Delucia was intentiona­lly walked.

College MEN’S LACROSSE

IMMACULATA 13, DELAWARE VALLEY 9 >> The Mighty

Macs’ Anthony Inserra picked up six total points scoring five goals and adding one assist to reach 100 career points. The Mighty Macs also were led by David Azzarano (one goal, four assists), Connor Tears (three goals), and Bailey Manion (two goals, one assist), goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow (19 saves, seven ground balls), Robbie Wishart (seven ground balls, three caused turnovers) and Daniel Alvarez (five caused turnovers, five groundball­s).

Women’s Lacrosse

BRYN MAWR 13, IMMACULATA 4 >> The visiting Mighty Macs had four different goal scorers -- sophomore Ava Hoffman, freshman Carly Oberg and juniors Jacki Murray and Kaitlyn Klitchko. Liza Laxton had two assists for Immaculata.
