Arnold A. Cunningham, Sr.
Arnold A. Cunningham, Sr., 79 of Lancaster, formerly of West Whiteland Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Born Friday, December 31, 1943 in Troy, New York, he was the son of the late Rev. LeRoy J. and Eleanora C. (Roesch) Cunningham and husband of the late Marlene L. (Hoover) Cunningham.
He was employed by Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for many years before retiring. He was a member and past Governor from 1994-1995 of the Order of the Moose, Downingtown Lodge. No. 1153. He was a member of the Romansville Methodist Church, West Bradford Township, Chester County. In school, he learned to play the trumpet, which he enjoyed playing throughout his life.
Surviving are sons, Arnold A. and wife Mary B. Cunningham, Jr. of Lancaster, Stephen E. and wife Nancy L. Cunningham of Nazareth, and Michael L. and wife Yuko Cunningham of Oviedo, FL, sister, Nancy L. Riddell of Galloway, NJ, grandchildren, Patrick I. Cunningham and wife Melinda, Arnold A. Cunningham, III, Andrew R. Cunningham, Miya G. Cunningham, and Theodore S. Cunningham. He was predeceased by brother, James L. Cunningham.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a 12:00 PM funeral service, all on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Romansville United Methodist Church, 1859 Strasburg Road, West Bradford Township. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064.
