Edward G. Conroy

Edward G. Conroy, 87, of West Chester, PA passed away on January 17, 2024.

Born in 1936, in Philadelphia, PA, Edward was the son of the late Edward and Helen (née Walsh) Conroy.

Edward “Gerry” spoke fondly of his childhood growing up in Overbrook attending Our Lady of Lourdes school. He proudly served in the United States Navy and reached the rank of Lieutenant. Gerry was a loyal and active alumnus of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University Law School, where he served as a member of the Georgetown Law Review. Gerry put his law degree into practice after graduation with a successful career as an attorney until his retirement. He loved returning to Notre Dame and attended several football games over the years. Gerry was a lifelong avid Phillies fan. He rarely missed a game whether in person or watching from home. Outside of sports, Gerry had great appreciation for the orchestra, fine wines and gourmet restaurants. He enjoyed spending his leisure time with Eileen, family and friends down the shore in Avalon, NJ.

He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen L. Conroy (née Linton); loving father of Patrick (Patrice) and Christopher (Michelle); proud Pop-Pop of Jacob, Zachary, Braden, Erin and James; dear brother of Alex Conroy. He was predeceased by brothers, John “Jack” Conroy and Robert “Bob” Conroy.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:30-11:00 AM Thursday, January 25, 2024 followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave., Wayne, PA 19087. Interment Calvary Cem., West Conshohocken, PA.
