Christopher Uhland, owner of Harmony Hill Nursery (HHN) in East Brandywine Township,

Chester County made the announcement Monday morning, adding that Tulpehocken Nursery’s assets are being “directly absorbed into HHN effective immediately.”

Tulpehocken Nursery is a 70acre wholesale tree farm that specializes in deciduous balled and burlapped trees and shrubs for landscape design purposes, according to information on the nursery’s website. The company was founded in 1985 by Patty Minehart to grow quality trees and shrubs for landscape designers and contractors.

Tulpehocken Nursery’s plant palette consisted of “native flowering, understory and select specimen trees, complemented with native and ornamental shrubs of landscape size,” according to a press release announcing the acquisition.

In the announcement, Uhland said Harmony Hill Nursery has worked with Minehart for nearly 15 years.

“We are honored to carry on her legacy of plant production under the HHN name as we plan on producing a similar plant palette on her land to expand our own inventory for architects, designers, contractors and distributors,” the press release stated.

In its announcement, Harmony Hill said it is important to produce plants in Pennsylvania for customers and to be “ecologically sustainable to our climate.”

“As more and more regional nurseries close we are aiming to fill that void and produce more local plants for our discerning customers,” the release stated.

Harmony Hill Nursery has been in business for nearly 15 years, and grows shade, ornamental and evergreen trees, as well as shrubs, according to information on the company’s website.

Harmony Hill said future transactions will be conducted through its office at 45 Buck Road in East Brandywine Township. Customers can contact the company by calling 610-873-2495 or emailing office@hhnurseryllc.com.
