The Giant Co. offers customers DoorDash grocery delivery

Parent company Ahold Delhaize USA announces partnerships with DoorDash across its 5 brands

Ahold Delhaize USA — the parent company of The Giant Co. — has announced a new agreement with DoorDash to make an additional on-demand grocery delivery marketplace available to customers at each of its brands, including the Giant Co.’s stores.

Delivery from DoorDash is already available across all of the Giant Co.’s more than 190 stores, and has been available for a couple of weeks, according to a spokeswoman.

Additional Ahold Delhaize USA brands that are offering the service, according to Wednesday’s announcement, include Giant Food, Hannaford and Stop & Shop. In addition, Food Lion will pilot with DoorDash this month and expects to launch in its markets in March, according to a press release.

The speed and ease of DoorDash and its strong reputation for providing great customer service aligns with the priorities of each of our local brands,” JJ Fleeman, CEO, Ahold Delhaize USA, said in a statement. “We look forward to delivering this new option for customers of our local brands — as well as new customers through DoorDash — and leveraging this partnership to enable our brands as they continue to drive omnichannel growth.”

Through the new partnership, the local brands of Ahold Delhaize USA will add to the more than 100,000 non-restaurant stores already on DoorDash’s Marketplace and Drive platforms across North America.

Ahold Delhaize USA brands’ loyalty programs are integrated into the DoorDash experience, and all participating brand stores will also be available on DashPass — DoorDash’s membership program, according to the release.

The Giant Co. operates stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and New Jersey.
