Local swimmers sparkle at Scott Elliott Invitational
West Chester Henderson High School had six firstplace finishes in the boys competition at the annual Scott Elliott Ches-Mont Invitational Saturday at West Chester University.
Those six first-place finishes were by Edward Stoltz (50-yard freestyle - 21.47 and 100 backstroke - 51.10), Sean Dillon (500 freestyle, 4:55.19), Finn Lukens (100 breaststroke, 58.14), the quartet of Stoltz, Dillon, Jeehan Lee and Lukens (400 free relay, 3:15.51) and the foursome of Stoltz, Lukens, Bailey Steimel and Lee (200 medley relay, 1:37.43).
Downingtown East sophomore Sam Sperling was first in the 100 butterfly (52.42) and 100 free (48.17).
Great Valley’s Patrick Hynes won the 200 free (1:49.55). Unionville freshman Grant Fleming won the 200 IM (2:00.63)
The Unionville quartet of Fleming, Kyle O’Neill, Brendan Mannion and James Burns won the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:32.52).
In the girls competition, individual first-place finishers included Unionville’s Izzy Iwasyk (100 fly, 55.83), Downingtown West’s Elizabeth McNamara (200 free, 1:55.36), West Chester Henderson’s Paige Fisher (200 IM, 2:09.43) and West Chester Rustin’s Claire Roussakis (50 free, 23.96).
Downingtown West’s Morgan Harlan, Keira Carmella, Elizabeth McNamara and Leah Lacovara won the 200 medley relay (1:50.29).
The West Chester East foursome of Sam Heiland, Grace Herlihy, Emma Antczak and Taiylor Tegler placed first in the 200 free relay (1:41.09).
