Weaver’s Orchard hosting Spring Blossom Experience
Weaver’s Orchard in Robeson Township will be in peak bloom during its Spring Blossom Experience on April 13 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Enjoy a hayride through the peach and apple blossoms and take advantage of photo ops in the blossoming orchard. The crops that will be in bloom include peaches, which have gorgeous pink blossoms, and apples, which have beautiful white flowers with hues of pink in the center.
The hayride will be an opportunity to learn about the orchard. This educational experience will help attendees discover how the energetic staff maintains various crops ranging from berries to tree fruits. If the sun is shining, the orchard will be abuzz with the sound of tens of thousands of pollinators, including honeybees and bumblebees doing their amazing work of pollinating the crops.
At the market and festival grounds, customers can enjoy hot food and tasty samples from the farm market. Madeto-order deli sandwiches and wraps will be available as well. Children will love the spring-themed story time and the opportunity to feed the goats and chickens and hold baby chicks.
The garden center will be bursting to life with spring flowers such as pansies, daffodils, tulips, planters, some fruit trees and more — perfect for early spring gardens.
Another feature at the orchard is Kim’s Café, which every month offers unique coffee and tea specials based on what’s in season. They also offer made-to-order lattés and cold brew coffee as well as baked goods.
In the farm market, an abundance of homegrown apples and fresh produce abounds, as well as locally produced items and unique local grocery items.
Celebrating spring is just as important for orchards as it is for the community. A well-timed bloom means good crops are on the way, and being outside in the sunshine is beneficial to everyone’s health.
Pick-your-own fruit will start in late May when strawberries ripen, followed by raspberries, cherries, blueberries, plums, blackberries, peaches, pears and apples. The farm market is open year-round featuring a garden center, deli, bakery, café and more.
