If you want to see the best combination of speed and teamwork, look no further than the Golden Valley and Calabasas girls 4x100meter relay teams.

Each set of four speeding ladies crowned themselves CIF Southern Section champions Saturday afternoon at Moorpark High School at the CIF Track and Field Finals.

Golden Valley's Kylee Davis, Tylar Gallien, Nevaeh Williams and Adonijah Currie won the Division 2 4x100 relay in 46.41 seconds. Calabasas' Brooklyn Kennedy, Zanae Woods, Zoe Ray and Lahela Ray won the Division 3 crown in 46.87.

The Calabasas girls also won the Division 3 4x400 relay in 3:51.56.

Golden Valley's girls track and field team won the CIF-SS Division 2 championship with a score of 86, blowing away second- and third-place finishers, Culver City (43) and Thousand Oaks (41), respectively.

Calabasas did the same in Division 3 with a team score of 80, but it was a much tighter finish. Harvard-Westlake finished second with 79 points.

Both teams will compete this week in the Masters Meet, which will be held Saturday at Moorpark High. Masters is the qualifier for the CIF State meet in Clovis on May 27-28.

Golden Valley holds the fastest 4x100 time in the state this season at 46.03.

Golden Valley's Currie also won the girls Division 2 200 title in dominating fashion in 23.82. The second-place

Many more local standouts were crowned CIF champions, but the high point of the weekend came from Rodrick Pleasant of Gardena Serra. Pleasant, a junior and a highly recruited football prospect, also won the 200
