Four area teams headed to CIF regional finals

The CIF State Southern California regional baseball and softball playoffs continued Thursday, each team one win away from the regional finals on Saturday.

BASEBALL

CASTAIC 9, FILLMORE 1 >>

The Coyotes scored six runs in sixth inning to put Fillmore

— the CIF Southern Section Division 7 runner-up — to secure a spot in Saturday's Division V regional final.

They will host Ganesha at noon. Tyler Hawn, who threw a complete game in Castaic's win in the CIFSS Division 6 final, tossed a complete game Thursday with three strikeouts. He also had three hits and an RBI. Jack Teoli

added three hits.

CALABASAS 6, SOUTH HILLS 3 >>

The Coyotes will play at Santana in the Division II regional final on Saturday afternoon.

Calabasas avenged its sectional playoff loss to South Hills thanks to Peter Lynch's winning performanc­e from the mound, going five innings and allowing one earned run. Luc Olson earned the save.

WESTLAKE 4, SAN MARCOS 3 >>

Westlake lost to San Marcos in the CIF-SS Division 3 semifinals, but got revenge Thursday to advance to the Division III regional final.

Westlake will play at Bakersfiel­d Christian on Saturday.

Dylan Voltanis earned the win for Westlake as he allowed just four hits and struck out five. Jesse Beer got the save.

The Celts were held to three hits Thursday in the Division II semifinals.

Crespi was the CIF-SS Division 2 champion.

SANTANA 3, CRESPI 1 >> SOFTBALL

OAKS CHRISTIAN 8, RANCHO BERNARDO 0 >>

The Lions advance to the Division I regional final for the second straight season.

They will travel to Poway on Saturday for the final at 1 p.m.

Rylee McCoy went 2 for 3 with a solo home run and three RBIs, and Anahi Arreola went 4 for 4 with a solo homer and three RBIs. Emelia Davis threw a complete-game shutout and struck out five.
