Area players among All-City softball picks
The L.A. City Section announced the All-City softball teams this week, including the selections for player and coach of the year in each division.
In the Open Division, Carson junior Riannah Maulupe was named the player of the year after leading the Colts to the Open Division title by beating Granada Hills 1211 in eight innings in the final.
Carson coach Rudy Aguirre was named coach of the year.

In Division I, Chavez sophomore Jessica Ramos was named the player of the year. She provided the hit that gave the Eagles a 7-6 win over rival San Fernando in the Division I final. Chavez's Stephanie Boshae was named coach of the year.
