Cleveland football standout Hall signs with Colorado St.

Cleveland football's Kory Hall has dreamed of playing college football since he was 5 years old. The problem was, he wasn't very good at first.

“I was just playing football outside with my cousins and my brothers and I started playing football for an actual team when I was 12,” Hall said. “I only played defensive end because I was horrible at football.”

But when Hall started playing receiver, everything changed. And on Wednesday, he satisfied his childhood dream of college football when he signed his national letter of intent to play at

Colorado State.

He did so surrounded by his high school teammates. They came to Cleveland's signing day ceremony in support and stood by his side.

“It means a lot,” Hall said. “They're like my little brothers and family, so it felt amazing having them there with me.”

Hall had 66 receptions for 1,240 yards and scored 19 touchdowns in his senior season with the Cavaliers. On defense, he had 102 total tackles, two interceptions, two sacks, two forced fumbles and blocked a field goal.

Colorado State finished the season 5-7 overall, but beat Colorado and coach Deion Sanders in double overtime in a highly publicized game.

Hall said that he was drawn to Colorado State because of its pass-heavy style of play as well as the school's intangibles.

“It felt like home, honestly,” Hall said. “I feel like a lot of kids, they choose schools with big names just for a good 15 minutes of clout. But I feel like when you really commit to a school, you're supposed to go somewhere that feels like home.”

University of Kansas. He was the only Chaminade player to sign Wednesday.

Kansas is slated to play in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against UNLV on Dec. 26 after compiling an overall record of 8-4 this season. It is the Jayhawks' best regular-season record since 2007.

“The whole coaching staff is very good, very intellectual,” said Abajian, who flipped from Oregon State to Kansas in late October. “They're building something special. What they were able to do in the past three seasons, there is something exciting to look at, and even more exciting to have the chance to be a part of.”
