In March, my wife and I took a trip to New Zealand and Australia. Pictured is the Three Sisters sandstone rock formation on Echo Point in the Blue Mountains outside of Sydney.

The Three Sisters are, from left, Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo from the Katoomba tribe. One legend has it that they were forbidden by tribal law to marry three warriors from the Nepean tribe. A major tribal battle broke out. To protect the sisters, an elder turned them into stone. During combat, the elder was killed. No one could turn the sisters back into people.
