Flag flying

-

Memorial Day, a solemn holiday, will soon be upon us. It is a sacred day to all wartime veterans. We must remember the sacrifices of all our veterans on this day, and we must pay tribute to all the women and men who are now in harms ways. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance to all veterans and their families and friends. The sacrifices these military personnel have made are meaningless without recognition and remembrance.

Too often we take for granted all the freedoms we all enjoy, and we forget that these freedoms have been paid for with blood and life. By honoring our war dead, we preserve the sacrifices these courageous men and women have made to protect our priceless heritage. We must also remember our prisoners of war and those still missing in action. They also have given their love and loyalty to this great land.

Let us pause on Memorial Day (May 31) to pay tribute to those heroes who come from all walks of life to defend America. Let’s all fly the red, white and blue, our flag and symbol of a great republic, which shows respect for all veterans and their loved ones. Words cannot express my sincere thanks to all our military personnel. We owe them so much.
