Cavs cruise in opener

No. 5 Virginia opened the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship with a 4-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort.

The Cavaliers (22-2) will face No. 21 Stanford (11-5) at noon today in the second round. Stanford blanked LSU 4-0 in the first match of the day at the Charlottesville Regional.

U.Va. has won 16 straight matches.
