Ginobili, Hardaway among Hall inductees

-

NBA stars Manu Ginobili and Tim Hardaway are among the 2022 class of Basketball Hall of Fame inductees.

The honorees were announced Saturday in New Orleans at the site of the NCAA Final Four. The other nominees are listed in a story on page 2.

The class will be enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts, on Sept. 10.

Golf: Anna Davis didn’t know many of the players when the 16-yearold arrived for her first Augusta National Women’s Amateur. They all know who she is now. Davis got into the mix with two birdies around Amen Corner, closed with a 3-under 69 and took the title Saturday when Latanna Stone collapsed over the final two holes at Augusta National . ... Brandt Snedeker and Beau Hossler each shot rounds of 5-under 67 to join J.J. Spaun and Dylan Frittelli atop the leaderboard after the third round of the Valero Texas Open on Saturday.

NFL: The New England Patriots acquired wide receiver DeVante Parker from the Miami Dolphins.

MLB: The Cleveland Guardians locked up closer Emmanuel Clase on a $20 million, five-year contract.

NHL: Devon Toews scored with 4:26 remaining, Darcy Kuemper stopped 38 shots and the Avalanche tied the franchise record for most home wins in a season with a 3-2 victory over the Penguins on Saturday.

It was win No. 28 at Ball Arena, matching Colorado’s marks from 200001 and 2017-18. At 28-4-3, Colorado possesses the league’s top home points percentage (.843).

Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Mikko Rantanen also scored for Colorado in a fast-paced game that had just one penalty.

Crosby’s goal gave him 1,397 career points — one point away from joining Jari Kurri and Washington’s Alex Ovechkin in a three-way tie for 21st-most in NHL history.
