No. 17 TCU puts an end to No. 11 Kansas State’s win streak at nine

Emanuel Miller scored 23 points, Eddie Lampkin Jr. had a season-high 17 and No. 17 TCU beat Kansas State 82-68 Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas, ending the 11th-ranked Wildcats’ nine-game winning streak.

Mike Miles Jr. had 13 points and 11 assists for the Horned Frogs (14-3, 3-2 Big 12), who were coming off back-to-back losses after an 11-game winning streak. The Wildcats (15-2, 4-1) had gone from unranked to the verge of the top 10 after winning three consecutiv­e games against AP Top 25 teams, but trailed by as many as 25 points midway through the second half.

Norfolk native Keyontae Johnson had 18 points for K-State, and Markquis Nowell added 16.

No. 2 Kansas 62, No. 14 Iowa State 60:

KJ Adams scored in the paint, breaking a tie for the Jayhawks (16-1, 5-0 Big 12) with less than 12 seconds left in Lawrence, Kansas. The Cyclones (13-3, 4-1) saw a six-game winning streak end as Kansas gained its 10th straight triumph.

Iowa State had a last shot to win, but Caleb Grill’s 3-point attempt caromed off the rim at the buzzer.

Gradey Dick had 21 points and Adams added 15 for the Jayhawks. Gabe Kalscheur scored 23 points for the Cyclones. The game commemorat­ed 125 years of Kansas basketball, with more than 160 former players, coaches and staff at Allen Fieldhouse.

No. 4 Alabama 106, LSU 66:

Brandon Miller scored 31 points and had six 3-pointers by halftime in the most lopsided meeting in the series’ 189-game history.

Miller, the nation’s top-scoring freshman and a potential NBA lottery pick, matched LSU’s 22 first-half points by himself for the streaking Crimson Tide (15-2, 5-0 SEC), who have won six games in a row. The Tigers (12-5, 1-4) have lost four in a row.

Vanderbilt 97, No. 15 Arkansas 84:

Tyrin Lawrence scored 22 points for Vanderbilt (9-8, 2-2 Southeaste­rn Conference), which rallied from a 10-point deficit in the second half against the Razorbacks (12-5, 1-4) to snap a two-game skid.

Vanderbilt trailed 42-32 before the 3s started falling. The host Commodores used a 16-4 run with back-to-back 3s by Trey Thomas tying it at 56 and then Jordan Wright’s 3 putting Vandy up 59-56 with 12:18 left. Vanderbilt led by as much as 14.

Arkansas lost its third straight and never got closer than seven down the stretch. The Commodores knocked down all 12 free throws in the final 1:57 to seal the victory.

Indiana 63, No. 18 Wisconsin 45:

Trayce Jackson-Davis finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Jalen HoodSchifi­no added 16 points for the host Hoosiers (12-4, 2-4 Big Ten), who snapped a three-game losing streak with their first win in three weeks. They beat the Badgers (11-5, 3-3) despite playing without two injured starters.

Wisconsin has lost all three games since forward Tyler Wahl went down with an injured leg. The Hoosiers overcame an ugly start to swing the game with an 18-2 run to start the second half, and the Badgers never recovered. Connor Essegian had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Wisconsin.

Creighton 73, No. 19 Providence 67:

Ryan Kalkbrenne­r scored 13 of his 21 points in the final 15 minutes for Creighton

(10-8, 4-3 Big East), which ended the Friars’ nine-game win streak with a triumph in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Bluejays got 20 points from Trey Alexander and 19 from Baylor Scheierman. Creighton was up 16 points two minutes into the second half before Providence (14-4, 6-1) went on a 25-9 run, with Scheierman on the bench in foul trouble for most of it. Bryce Hopkins had 20 points to lead the Friars.

Florida 73, No. 20 Missouri 64:

Colin Castleton had 16 points and 13 rebounds for his third double-double of the season, and the host Gators (10-7, 3-2) rallied from 11 down to beat the Tigers (13-4, 2-3).

Castleton chipped in six assists, three steals and two blocks as the Gators won their third consecutiv­e game. He made 7 of 11 shots and finished with five offensive boards. Kobe Brown led the Tigers with 21 points.

No. 22 College of Charleston 78, Elon 60:

Dalton Bolon made six 3s and scored 21 points as the host Cougars (18-1, 6-0 CAA) extended the nation’s longest win streak to 17 games. Ante Brzovic added 17 points for Charleston.

Elon (2-16, 0-5) led by two at halftime but lost its eighth game in a row. Max Mackinnon led the Phoenix with 17 points.

Armed forces

Army 83, Boston University 74:

Jalen Rucker’s 29 points and five assists guided the Black Knights (11-8, 5-1 Patriot League) past the host Terriers (9-10, 2-4). Ethan Roberts added 15 points and Charlie Peterson had 11 for Army.

Walter Whyte led the Terriers with 16 points, while Jonas Harper added 15 points and two blocks. It was BU’s third straight defeat.
