Caught an 86-yard touchdown pass with 1 second remaining to give the Phantoms the Class 4 state title.

Finished with 45 receptions, 1,003 yards and 1 4 touchdowns. Also had eight interceptions — including two for touchdowns — six pass breakups and three fumble recoveries.

First-team all-state at both wide receiver and defensive back, the Class 4 Region A Offensive Player of the Year and the Peninsula District Offensive Player of the Year.

Maury, lineman, 6-2, 260, junior

He was the quarterback’s blind-side blocker for an offense that had nearly 8,000 total yards and helped lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title.

MIKE Phoebus senior Anthony Reddick, top, shown in a game against Hampton, was voted the Class 4 Defensive Player of the Year. South Carolina signee finished with 44 tackles — 22 for loss — with six sacks, six pass breakups, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He scored six defensive touchdowns to help lead the Commodores to the Class 5 state title. Class 5 Defensive Player of the Year, Class 5 Region A Defensive Player of the Year and Eastern District Defensive Player of the Year. He was chosen to play in the All-American Bowl on Jan. 6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Averaged more than 33 yards per punt, including 11 inside the 20, and a long of 53. First-team all-region at both punter and kicker.

Maury, wide receiver, 5-9, 165, junior KENDALL WARNER/STAFF The Virginia Tech signee set Virginia High School League career records for receiving yards (4,226) and touchdowns (63). He’s second in career receptions (203). He also rewrote the South Hampton Roads career receiving records in yards, touchdowns and receptions. Finished the season with 59 receptions, 1,233 yards and 15 touchdowns and was the Class 5 Region A Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-state.
