Huel Clyde McLemore

Huel Clyde McLemore, aged 100 years, passed quietly at home in Hampton on January 10, 2024. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Cornelia (Key) Hancock McLemore; parents, Euel Shepherd McLemore and Florence Smith McLemore; brother, Euel Smith McLemore; and sister, Vesta Lou McLemore Skelton. He was also predeceased by two of his sons, E. Bruce McLemore, his wife Frances D. McLemore, and Garry S. McLemore; and grandson Jason P. McLemore, who is survived by his wife, Michelle, and his daughters Katherine and Kylie. Clyde is survived by his son, Patrick R. McLemore (Page); daughter, Dianne McLemore Jewett; grandsons, Jonathan Jewett (Stephanie) and Andrew McLemore (Kristen); granddaughters, Jennifer McLemore and Crystal Trana (Phillip). Clyde was a proud graduate of Auburn University (then known as Alabama Polytechnic Institute) and worked his entire career as an aeronautical engineer at the NASA Langley Research Center Full Scale Tunnel. Besides his family, church and work, there was his great love of golf. He played for many years with a great bunch of men every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at the Woodlands Golf Course in Hampton. This physical regimen of walking the course plus the social interactions with his friends contributed to his well-lived long life. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A celebration of life service will occur on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 514 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia. A reception following service will occur on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 514 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia. An interment will occur on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
