An imposing Christ

-

In Michael Gerson’s Jan. 6 column about President Donald Trump’s evangelical support, he refers to Jesus Christ as a “scrawny Jewish boy.”

I imagine he has this image of Jesus from His teaching to love one another and to turn the other cheek.

This is the same Jesus who made a whip of cords and drove the money changers out of the temple.

In the book of Luke, it says he walked right through an angry mob that was determined to throw Him over a cliff.

The Bible declares that when He returns, He will rule the nations with a rod of iron and that every knee will bow before Him.

This hardly sounds like a “scrawny Jewish boy.”

I suggest Mr. Gerson read the entire New Testament so he can more properly describe Jesus the next time he references Him in one of his essays. Roger Pogge Williamsburg
