Newport News man dies after motorcycle crash
A man died in a hospital after crashing a motorcycle Monday night in Newport News, police said.
Dispatchers were called at 7:56 p.m. about the crash near the intersection of J. Clyde Morris and Warwick boulevards.
When first responders arrived, they found 28year-old Nathan Faison, of Newport News, with injuries considered to be life-threatening, according to a news release from police.
Faison was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The police department’s preliminary investigation found that Faison lost control of the motorcycle while he was traveling west on Warwick Boulevard. The motorcycle then crashed into a curb.
Police said Tuesday afternoon that speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
No other vehicles were believed to be involved.
