Maybe a headline on the Philadelphia Eagles’ website says it best:

Welcome aboard the Travis Fulgham bandwagon.

While the Eagles have limped to a 1-3-1 start, Fulgham is raising eyebrows after back-to-back big games since being signed from the team’s practice squad.

Fulgham, who starred for Old Dominion, had 10 receptions for152 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh. That gives him12 catches for 209 yards and two TDs — including a key go-ahead touchdown grab the previous week against San Francisco.

“He’s a beast,” quarterback Carson Wentz said after Sunday’s game, according to philadelphiaeagles.com. “I mean he showed up today and showed really last week that the two big plays he had, they weren’t a fluke. Kid’s a baller. He made a lot of big plays. I was really proud of him and pumped for him.”

Fulgham is the Eagles’ leading receiver after two games.

“I’m just trying to do what I can. If Carson throws me the ball, just come down with it and make the play,” Fulgham said. “Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get the win, but we’ll keep building on it.”

Fulgham was drafted by Detroit in the sixth round in 2019. He played in three games for the Lions but had no receptions.

Detroit cut him Aug. 9 and he went to Green Bay, but the Packers waived him Aug. 19. A day later, he was claimed by the Eagles. He was on the practice squad until the game against the 49ers.

Fulgham played for ODU from 2014-18 and is seventh all-time on the Monarchs’ receptions list with 128 and is sixth in career receiving yards with 2,024.

Fulgham’s 1,083 receiving yards in 2018 rank second in ODU’s brief football history. He finished that season with 63 receptions, and had nine catches for188 yards and a touchdown in a monumental victory that season over Virginia Tech.
