Mary Lee Krowe Dryden
Mary Lee Krowe Dryden, 80, passed away on January 2, 2021. Mrs. Dryden was born and raised in Poquoson, Virginia and was a lifelong resident and that she was proud of. She was employed by the City of Poquoson Public Schools where she retired as a Library Assistant after 28 years. She taught Sunday School at Trinity United Methodist Church in Poquoson and later was a member of Messick Baptist Church.
She was a member of the 200 Bowlers Club and enjoyed volunteering, traveling, playing Bingo at the York Center, eating out on Friday nights wither her friends at the Golden Corral and a special thank you to Michael. She was a 1958 graduate of Poquoson High School.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David F. Dryden; daughter, Julie D. Brooks; parents, Raymond and Margaret Krowe; brother, Raymond Krowe, Jr. (Buck); brothers-in-law, Jesse F. Dryden, Elwood Nathan (Bubba) Dryden and Marie, John W. Dryden, Donald Carmines and Jan; sister-inlaws, Jean S. Krowe, Sarah E. Carmines and son, Donald M. Carmines.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Belinda D. Humphrey of Yorktown; four grandchildren, David James Heywood (D.J) (Jessica), Joseph David Brooks (J.D), Sara Elizabeth Brooks, and Joshua Isac Humphrey; two great-grandchildren, Aubri Cook and Mayson Heywood; sister, Peggy K. Comstock; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Dryden, Colleen Dryden; and many special nieces, nephews and friends that she treasured so dearly through the years.
She was a wonderful mother to her children and a special Nana to her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who she loved dearly.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will be remembered for her walnut cakes and her banana puddings.
A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Park.
