Amaya Nicole Brown
is the daughter of Michelle and Carl Brown. She is a junior at Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia. Upon graduation, she plans to attend Emory University and major in Nursing. Amaya is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She lives by her favorite scripture “The steadfast of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to the end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” Lamentations 3: 22-23.
Chelsie Marie Davenport
is the daughter of Tonya Grant and Reverend Willard Davenport, Jr. She is a senior at Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia. Chelsie plans to attend Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University to become a Pediatric Dentist. She just completed her first year of college. Her favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“
Layla Nicole Fairfax
is the daughter of Anthony E. Fairfax and Colita Fairfax. Layla is a junior at Kecoughtan High School. She is completing her senior year in June, 2021. She plans to attend Howard University or Virginia Tech and study Architecture. She is a member of First Baptist Church Hampton, Virginia. Her favorite scripture is Ephesians 4:2, “God is Love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
Trinity Monae Lanier
is the daughter of Kyra Eiileen Lanier. She is a senior at Phoebus High School in Hampton, Virginia. She plans to attend Norfolk State University and major in a medical field. She attends First Baptist Church of Hampton. Her favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.”
Saleemah Haana Layne
is the daughter of Davosha H. Layne and Roberto A. Layne. She is a senior at Bethel High School. She plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University. After graduation from college, she hopes to be employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and earn a Master of Science in Criminal Investigations. Her religious affiliation is with The Mosque Islamic Center of Hampton Roads.
Janiya Amoni Pearson
is the daughter of Mrs. April Mason, Mr. Edward Mason and Mr. Eric Hawkins. She was a senior at Hampton Christian Academy, Hampton, Virginia last year. She is attending Hampton University where she just finished her first year. Janiya plans to excel in a career of Human Resources and run her own business.
She is passionate about anything involving leadership skills to the next level. Her religious affiliation is with Full Gospel Kingdom Church in Newport News, Virginia. Janiya’s favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:15 “She is more precious than rubies and nothing you desire can and compare to her.”
Kaniya Ann-Marie Savage
is the daughter Ms. Kimarra James and Mr. Christopher Savage. She was a junior at Woodside High School last year. She plans to graduate this year and attend Virginia Commonwealth University to major in Psychology. She is an accomplished violinist who started playing at the age of seven. Kaniya has played with the Peninsula Youth Orchestra, District VII Honors Orchestra, and the Senior Regional Orchestra. She took ballet for three with the Academy of Dance and performed at the Ferguson Center for the Arts several years to raise funds for “Operation Smile”. Kaniya Ann-Marie Savage is a musician and “Violinist from the Heart”.
DeLeigh Michell Steele
is the daughter of Tamara Trinet Brown and Derek Lee Steele. She was a senior at Heritage High in Newport News. She plans to attend George Mason University. Hopefully, she has completed her first year.
She plans to continue her education to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science and Criminology. She plans to further her education and earn a master’s degree in Cyber Forensics. In addition, DeLeigh plans to receive a paid internship with a crime lab. DeLeigh’s religious affiliation is with Providence Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. Her favorite scriptures are 1 Peter 5:7, Matthew 21:22 and Romans 12:12.
Ciani Bertina Taliaferro
is the daughter of Dr. Andria Chapman - Taliaferro and Carlos Taliaferro. She was a junior at Nansemond River high school in Suffolk, Virginia. She is finishing her high school career and attending an HBCU. Ciani plans to graduate with honors. During her college years, she plans to pledge Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc. Ciani wants to make a difference by donating and serving in local charity events. She plans to encourage others to do the same. Her kind and gentle spirit and passion for helping others is what sets her apart from others her age. One of Ciani’s favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The Hampton Delta Foundation, Incorporated is a 501(c) 3 Public Service Foundation located at 1999 West Pembroke Avenue, Hampton, VA 23661. It was established in 1999 by the Hampton Alumnae Chapter.
