Schools

Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsbu­rg and York County: Closed through Friday.

Hampton, Newport News, Portsmouth: Closed the week of Nov. 22

Garbage

Chesapeake and Suffolk: Today’s collection will be picked up Friday. Friday’s collection will be picked up Saturday.

Norfolk and Virginia Beach: Today’s collection will be picked up Saturday.

Hampton: Nov. 26 collection will be picked up Monday.

Newport News: Today’s collection will be picked up Monday. All regularly scheduled collection­s for the week of Nov. 29 will be delayed one day.

Williamsbu­rg: No changes to today’s collection.

York County: Starting today, collection­s will be delayed one day until all collection­s are completed on Saturday.

Travel

Hampton Roads Transit: Today:

bus and light rail service will operate on a Sunday schedule. The ferry will not operate. Administra­tive facilities, transit center informatio­n booths, and the Customer Service call center will be closed.

Friday: bus and light rail service will operate on a Saturday schedule. The ferry will run on its regular schedule. Administra­tive facilities and transit center informatio­n booths will be closed.

Mail

Post offices will be closed today with no regular mail delivery.

Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Williamsbu­rg and York County: Closed through Friday.

Suffolk: Closed through Sunday.

DMV: Customer service centers will be closed today through Saturday.
