Sips, sights and sounds

In celebratio­n of Historic Garden Week, Suffolk Farmers’ Market is hosting a tea tasting and spring plant sale on April 30. Sip some tea. Take in the beautiful sights of flowers. Listen to the sounds of live music. Afterward, spend the afternoon napping.

Diversity among vegans

The Mini Hampton Roads VegFest will be celebratin­g cultural diversity among vegan foods on May 2. It brings together some of the community’s favorite vendors for an evening of fun. Interactiv­e family activities, live art, dance performanc­es and much more. Get ready.

Seafood lovers, rejoice

The first Saturday in May is reserved for the annual Chincoteag­ue Seafood Festival. It features most everything imaginable — littleneck clams, single fried oysters, shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, hush puppies. All you can eat. Aw, shucks!

Yes! The Virginia Beach Taco Festival is back at The Shack on May 7 and 8. Select tacos from more than 10 restaurant­s and food trucks in the area. Pair them with a margarita or tequila. Then watch the taco and hot chile eating contest. It’s going to be a hot one.
