ACC reveals next 3-year plan

U.Va., Virginia Tech will continue to play twice each season

- Staff report State

The Atlantic Coast Conference revealed its scheduling matrix for the next three men’s basketball seasons, letting schools such as Virginia and Virginia Tech know the six opponents they will play twice per season and the eight which they will meet just once per year.

The ACC moved to conference schedules of 20 games per team in 2019-20 and has stuck with it.

Each ACC school will have the same home/away opponents in 2022-23 as it did for the 201920 regular season, which was completed before the pandemic prompted the conference tournament’s cancellation.

As natural rivals, U.Va. and the Hokies will play each other twice every season. Virginia also will face Louisville home and away for the next three years, while Virginia Tech also will meet Miami home and away for the next three seasons. The other matchups will rotate.
