Kellam boys reach region lacrosse title game

Kellam 16, Manchester 8: Evan Djunaedi scored seven goals, and Ben Andrews and Brayden Andrews netted three each Wednesday night as the Knights rolled into the Class 6 Region A championsh­ip game.

Kellam hosts Cosby today for the title.

Landstown 4, Oscar Smith 2: Matt Weber struck out 10 in a complete-game victory for the Eagles, who rallied with four runs in the sixth inning.

Ocean Lakes 7, Kellam 2: Colin Benson hit a two-run homer, and Blake Dickerson struck out 13 and gave up one earned run. Austin Crew scored twice and Jack Marchesi played stellar defense for the Dolphins.

Cox 3, Tallwood 1: Winning pitcher Riley DeCandido hit a two-run homer for the Falcons. Jake Colucci earned the save.

First Colonial 10, Princess Anne 1: Nic Morlang earned the win and struck out six, and Luke Bosher, Jack Stephens, Wes Stubbe and Brady Gavin combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.

Kempsville 4, Indian River 1: Kyle Sparks pitched a complete game to earn the win, while Mehka Hicks, EJ Buna and Ty James had RBIs for the Chiefs.

Nansemond River 8, Bethel 4: Cam Bauswell was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs at War Memorial Stadium. Konner Johnson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Warriors, who scored five runs in the second inning to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Warwick 16, King’s Fork 4: Warwick pounded out 14 hits, including a 4-for-4 performanc­e by Connor Smith, and Carson German, Carmello Washington, Michael Bartron and Joe Lesord also had multiple hits.

Manor 9, Heritage 7:

Miller and Ryan Nolan each had three of the Mustangs’ 14 hits.

Lakeland 17, Booker T. Washington 1: Scotty Sorey pitched four innings, giving up only two hits and striking out three. Jakobe Little scored two runs and had three hits.

Lafayette 22, Petersburg 1: The Rams had 12 hits and no errors as they dominated in five innings. Austen Townsend and Kamari Scott had two hits each, and four players stole at least two bases; Sam St. Clair had three.

Grassfield 9, Oscar Smith 0: Cydney LaFon was 2-for-2, while Mya Davis clubbed a three-run homer. Emma Joy went 2-for-3 for the Grizzlies. Braelyn Bailey struck out five in four innings.

Ocean Lakes 6, Landstown 0: Calliope James went 3-for-4, and Sam Patterson was 2-for-3 and tossed a two-hitter, striking out 14.

First Colonial 6, Cox 1: Kachelle Refour went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run, and on defense, completed a double play by catching a pop fly and throwing a runner out at home.

Princess Anne 9, Bayside 2: Lana Galloway hit a triple and Jordan Falls hit a home run for the Cavaliers. Rachael Gooch, Galloway, Emma McCluskey and Falls each managed multiple hits for PA.

Hickory 12, Salem 0: Emily Miller, Alena Demakas and Cali Megaro combined for six hits and eight RBIs to lead the Hawks.

Kempsville 6, Tallwood 0: MJ Taylor had three hits, McKenna Zimmerman added two hits and Maddie Talley tossed a two-hitter for the Chiefs.

Churchland 16, Denbigh 2: Madison Regan and Courtney Shelton had multiple hits for the Truckers, and pitcher Madison Yero had a solid outing.

Tabb 10, Lafayette 0: Jada Olexa went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a run and a stolen base in the six-inning game. Cameron Wray went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs, and Amaya Huskisson was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Boys soccer

Ocean Lakes 5, Oscar Smith 0: Derek Sapone led the Dolphins with two goals and one assist, and Abou Sissoko had a goal and two assists. Noah Ridgway and Kaden Sawyer also scored for Ocean Lakes. Zach Meadows and Michael Arzillo worked together to keep a clean sheet.

Grassfield 5, Western Branch 0: Ben Mercer scored three goals, while Juan Gutierrez and Jacob Greene each netted one. Jesse Vargas, Gutierrez, Miles Johnson and Greene had assists.

Western Branch 2, Landstown 0: Jayda Sutton scored both goals, assisted by Caleigh Burris and Madelynn Harmon. Reygan White posted the shutout in goal.

Ocean Lakes 8, Oscar Smith 0: Goalkeeper Kenzie Stinson achieved a shutout, Madison Moore had two goals, and Emily Box, Shant’elle Viel, Chloe McCall, Avery Hunn, Anna Wiggins and Gabby Kovela also scored.

Nansemond River 4, Granby 2: Joelle Hare scored three goals for the Warriors and Nathalie Dupree had one in a victory at Powhatan Field.

Menchville 2, Gloucester 1: The Monarchs’ Kamryn Eccleston and Alyssa Ware scored.
