Harold White Parkhurst Jr.
Harold W. Parkhurst Jr. 93 of Newport News,VA died 9/8/2023. Born to Harold and Olive Perrin (Williams) Parkhurst in Hanover, NH 6/13/30 He grew up in Woodstock, VT and was a graduate of Woodstock High School class of 1950 and was the state of VT downhill ski champion in his freshman year. He served in the US Navy and completed two tours in the Korean War and then he rode his Matchless Motorcycle across the US to finally meet his war time pen-pal sweetheart. He was in National Guard for many years. He was a machinist by trade but was a man of knowledge. One of his main goals in life was to teach about H2O2 food grade and homeopathic medicine up until his death.His hobbies included, snow and water skiing, diving, swimming, running, ski jumping and golf. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting with bows, guns, nuisance trapping and fly fishing. He was a Shriner (Boots the Clown), a 32nd Degree Mason, Past Patron in the Order of Eastern Star and a Masonic Advisor to the Rainbow Girls in Claremont, NH.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife of 64 years, Lois (Hamilton) Parkhurst and son Harold III. Sisters, Margery (Samuel) Johns and Pauline Parkhurst, brothers John (Trudy) and Peter (Linda). He is survived by sister Bunchie (Bryon) Angell and brother Richard (Janet) Parkhurst. Daughters, Carolyn Vick, Gail (James) Cobb and Tracy (Gabriel) Archard. Son Paul (Cheri). 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. A private service to be held by family. A celebration of life will be held in Taftsville, VT June of 2024.
