One week remains until the final girls basketball 757Teamz Top 15, and the rankings are as stable as they’ve ever been. Not only is the Top 15 the same as last week, but the order is unchanged, as are the next five.

Princess Anne holds the top spot, alone as Beach District champion courtesy of a recent win over No. 7 Kellam, and is poised to begin defense of its Class 5 state title as the area’s No. 1-ranked team. Catholic, which began the season at No. 1, holds on to the No. 2 spot, courtesy of an 18-game winning streak. The Crusaders captured the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools title with a win over No. 9 Norfolk Christian.

Menchville proved deserving of its No. 3 ranking with a hard-fought 58-54 win at No. 5 Hampton that sealed another Peninsula District title for the Monarchs. No. 4 Deep Creek, with 13 consecutive wins, is the new Southeastern District champ.

Surging No. 6 Norview, winners of its past eight games, shares the Eastern District crown with No. 10 Manor. No. 8 Jamestown beat Next Five designee Grafton on Thursday to replace the Clippers as the Bay Rivers champion.
