Tides bring back familiar promotions

NORFOLK — Thirteen postgame fireworks shows, an Easter brunch and egg hunt and a night honoring a longtime groundskee­per highlight the 2024 Norfolk Tides promotiona­l schedule, released Wednesday by the reigning Internatio­nal League and Triple-A national champions.

The schedule includes old favorites like Bark in the Park (April 14, May 28, June 11, July 1, Aug. 25, Sept. 22), Turn-BackThe-Clock Night (June 25, Aug. 20), Copa de la Diversión nights (May 31, June 30, Sept. 20), Star Wars Night (July 27), Armed Forces Night (May 18), Marine Corps Night (June 15), Coast Guard Night (Aug. 4), Navy Night (Aug. 10) and Air Force Night (Sept. 6).

Also returning to the promotiona­l schedule are Pride Night (June 12), Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Game (Aug. 23), Negro League Tribute Night (June 28), the Norfolk Squeezers (July 20), Princess Night (July 28), and Filipino American Heritage Night (Aug. 24).

Kenny Magner Night (April 12) will celebrate the 50-year career of the Tides’ head groundskee­per, who is retiring this week.

Fans can take home giveaways like a Jackson Holliday bobblehead (Sept. 6), a Triple-A national champions snow globe (July 19), a Triple-A national champion replica ring (Aug. 9), a Tides blackout baseball cap (Aug. 23), a special Tides youth jersey (July 26), and three packs of baseball cards (Aug. 6, Aug. 21, Sept. 3).

The Easter brunch, scheduled for March 31, will feature an egg hunt with the Easter Bunny.

Also returning to the promotiona­l schedule are Wine Down Wednesdays and the pregame party on Fridays and Saturdays. Each Tuesday in April, May and September will include $2 promotions, featuring $2 beer and popcorn.

Kids can run the bases at Harbor Park after every game, weather permitting. Additional promotions will be added throughout the season.

Single-game tickets start at $16 for reserved seats, with box seats available for $17. The Tides offer discounts to students through high school, active military with ID and senior citizens (60 and over). Children under 2 years old are admitted free.

Norfolk opens the season at home on March 29 with a 6:35 p.m. game against Durham. Individual game tickets will go on sale March 4 at 10 a.m.
