Nikki Haley

-

Polls say the majority of Americans do not want former President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden. Why are we accepting those two as our only choices? The election is more than eight months away, and the conventions are roughly five months away.

We have a presidential primary in Virginia on Tuesday, and Virginians can vote on either ballot in March, and then in November vote for the candidate of their choice at that time. Saturday is the last day of early voting for any registered voter at convenient places such as libraries. Presidential hopeful Nikki Haley is a very viable candidate.

If you don’t know much about her, there was an hour-long CNN town hall meeting Jan. 18. It basically was an hour interview with her alone where she stated her views on so many issues. She was articulate, informed and was able to answer so many surprise questions with specific answers and solutions. She is the most middle-ofthe-road person running.

As governor of South Carolina she brought new industries and companies to the state creating jobs and job training opportunities. She believes in honoring commitments we have made to other countries, including Ukraine. She supports strong border control and sensible gun laws. She is well-versed in foreign affairs partly due to her time as the United States ambassador to the United Nations.

Tuesday’s primary may be the most important election in U.S. history. Please vote and remember right now there is still a third candidate.
