Re “Oppose Biden” (Your Views,
March 25): The author seems to think it hilarious that people believe that President Joe Biden has done a good job. He even mocks a retired Marine who posted his endorsement of the president for his many accomplishments including making diverse appointments.
The author states, “Biden can barely walk up the steps to Air Force One and stutters.” So what? He’s Biden. He’s not going to hurt anyone. And he’s leading a party that agrees with the majority of Americans when it comes to major issues such as gun control, reproductive health care, access to voting, the LGBTQ community, and support for NATO and Ukraine to name a few. When reelected, at least we know somewhat what to expect. It’s frightening to think of what things would look like after four more years of former President Donald Trump.
The author says the left has this “dumb idea of a ‘perfect’ president” and reminds readers there is no such thing. Thanks for that. He says he would rather have someone who is “perfectly imperfect” like Trump. He doesn’t elaborate, but I assume “perfectly imperfect” relates to 91 felony counts across two different federal districts and two state courts. And he’s been found liable for sexual abuse.
I understand the general disappointment that the Biden-Trump rematch creates, but they are our choices. Hopefully four more years of Biden will provide the time needed to move past this Trump era.
Perhaps during this time, Republicans can recapture their own party and nominate a legitimate candidate to face the new (younger) Democratic candidate in 2028.
