Barbara Littlepage
Barbara Littlepage, a resident of Williamsburg since 1972, passed away on March 30, 2024 at the age of 100.
The daughter of Frederick and Rose Wright, she was born on January 14, 1924 in Hilton Village and graduated from Newport News High School. A lifelong Baptist, she was a member of James River Baptist Church. She was past president of Northampton Women’s Club of Hampton, an honorary lifetime member of the Virginia Peninsula Coin Club and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of Silver Wings, an organization composed of women who soloed powered aircraft over 50 years ago. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Bernard D. Littlepage, a well known Williamsburg surveyor; her parents, her brother William L. Wright of Newport News VA., her sister and brother-in-law Betty Ann and Jack Stinson of Midlothian, VA and her brother-in-law, William Hale Littlepage of Hopewell, VA. Following the death in1980 of her husband she worked for the National Center for State Courts for eleven years until she retired in 1993. Barbara loved the beach, she loved books, but most of all she loved her family.
Barbara is survived by three sons, Bernard Dix Littlepage, Jr. and his wife Judy Nauman of Pepperell, MA., Lewis Ward Littlepage and his wife Kathy of Poquoson, VA. and Gary R. Littlepage and his wife Susan of Walpole, NH. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Littlepage of Lowell, AR and Jonathan Michael Littlepage and his wife Arlene of Newport News, VA. and a great-granddaughter, Bianca Littlepage of Little Rock, AR. Other survivors include niece and nephews, Ashby Stinson of Midlothian, Donald Gilman of Gloucester, VA., Jeffrey Littlepage of Hopewell, VA., Becky English of Prince George, VA and sister-in-law Brenda Littlepage of Hopewell, VA.
Visiting hours will be on Friday April 5, 2024 at Bucktrout Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday April 6, 2024 at 11 AM at James River Baptist Church on Centerville Road with the Rev. Scott Salsman officiating.
