Thunder crush Mavs to lock up No. 1 seed

As the final moments wound down in a 135-86 win over the Mavericks, the still-standing Thunder fans celebrated a team that went from winning 24 games two seasons ago to having the best record in the Western Conference this season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 15 points in one half of action, and the Thunder dominated a depleted Mavs squad on Sunday for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

The Thunder finished with the same 57-25 record as the Nuggets but owns the tiebreaker. The Thunder hadn’t finished as the top seed since the 2012-13 season and hadn’t been to the playoffs since the 2019-20 season.

■ Jamal Murray scored 21 points, Nikola Jokic had 15 points and 15 rebounds, and the defending champion Nuggets secured the No. 2 seed in the West with a 126-111 victory over the Grizzlies on Sunday . ... Myles Turner had 31 points and Pascal Siakam scored 28 as the Pacers beat the Hawks 157-115 on Sunday and avoided falling into the play-in tournament . ... Klay Thompson scored 25 points with six 3-pointers and the Warriors beat the Jazz 123-116 in the regular-season finale Sunday and wound up with the 10th spot in the West.

College basketball: Caitlin Clark made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” during the show’s “Weekend Update” segment. The Iowa star is in New York for the WNBA draft.

NHL: Jordan Kyrou, Brayden Schenn and Nathan Walker scored in the third period, leading the Blues to a 4-1 win over the Kraken on Sunday.

Soccer: Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title for the first time Sunday to end Bayern Munich’s 11-year reign as champion.
