BEST BET: RACE 5, REQUESTING

FIRST RACE

BUON GUSTO gets some class relief dropping in vs. bottom level conditioned claimers for first time, need only repeat 12/23 try to get back on winning track after b eing a bit overmatched in last several tries. GETAWAY CAR rallied from off a soft pace in latest, continues to hold form extremely well at this time. DAZZLING DEPUTY failed as odds on choice vs. similar on 5/3 may prove one to catch on stretch to seven-eighths.

SECOND RACE

BEHZAD’S PRIDE has changed hands since latest, drops to more suitable spot, gets slight edge at this level. FLASHING CAT and STARSHIP APOLLO finished heads apart going six furlongs just 11 days earlier, loom logical choices having both won multiple times at this distance. Former has bounced several times off simialrly graded efforts in the past and perhaps eligible to do so again wheeling back on relatively short rest. Starship Apollo in new hands off the claim, lanother who much not regress off career best Beyer performance last time.

THIRD RACE

TESTARUDA much the best on graduation day at Tampa overcoming rough trip to earn career high mark in two turn bow on turf. Well spotted to take another despite stepping into winner’s ranks. FLYING DUDE and PATRONA both drop to more suitable spots, loom major players at their best.

FOURTH RACE

STARSHIP JUBILEE exiting far and away her best yet when readily handling state bred allowance types, this distance, on 3/9, just a question of how far she might regress off the effort wheeling back in just 13 days. WOLF GOURMET the most logical alternative for those wishing to side against the favorite. Rated back at rear of pack off slow pace, finished with good energy under similar conditions last time. ZIPPY SPEED drops to perhaps a bit softer spot after trying 1 3/16 miles for first time in ‘16 finale. Been freshened, may fit with the others.

FIFTH RACE

REQUESTING, the day’s best, back to the main, drops to the bottom, adds blinkers, worked well enough on dirt on 3/10 to merit the call against this very weak lot. ECLIPTICAL MY WAY another new face to the category plunging right to the bottom off the claim. Was second best behind 8/5 Sassy Astray on 12/9, the latter winning her N2L condition here earlier this month. PRETTY VENEZUELA perhaps the best of the many in here exiting very weak, similarly conditioned bottom level maiden claimer on 3/8.

SIXTH RACE

D’ KINGFISH much improved of late, turned in game effort when hooked for much of the trip contesting pace earlier this month, ready to win with this kind if able to avoid similar conflict for the lead with Love Conquers. ROYAL FLAME did not have the best of trips when finishing just behind preferred choice in their previous encounter, reunites with Saez who was aboard for big try vs. slightly better five weeks earlier. OVER LIMIT back to the grass and in much better form than when trying turf for the only other time, running 3rd of 11 here on 1/4. Might prove bit of a sleeper.

SEVENTH RACE

FORALL THE MARBLES returns to better spot after being overmatched vs. starter allowance foes first off the claim for barn heating up again of late. May stand some catching if able to relax long enough in front. TOTAL JOINT strictly the one to beat off big try behind 9/5 Completely Bonkers last time, just missing despite taking up sharply on the final bend. PRINCE VINCENZO re-claimed by Serpe

barn off another good showing earlier this month, consistent sort hard to ignore in present form.

EIGHTH RACE

Taking a flyer at the price with LA ZORAYA who ran too big behind win machine Queen Del Valle while finishing in front of likes of Indian Mantuana and Valedictorian in 11/3 turf dash at GPW. Catches a field loaded with speed, might come flying, pick up all the pieces at big balloons. THREAT in dangerous hands off the claim. Dons shades, also ran well following slow start in aforementioned Queen Del Valle race on 11/3. HANSEN’S GIRL comes up tagged for the first time since graduation day. A proven commodity on grass, not embarressed by Delphinia(MSW winner here earlier in meet) and Sister Nation following very wide trip two back at Turfway.

NINTH RACE

KISMET’S HEELS knocking on the door with this kind. Earned high marks in all three starts since switching to dirt last fall at CD. Finished third from tough post after taking up sharply in early stretch in ‘17 debut. Best here if able to secure early position from outside post. MARITIME PULPIT had an even worse trp when finishing behind Kismet’s Heels on 2/5 checking a couple of times along the way. Figures forwardly placed from outset. SAIL AHOY back to the main off a couple of decent tries on turf. Held own with better on dirt in N Y Mutazen a big question mark trying dirt for the first time but well posted and working well over the main of late at PM.

TENTH RACE

WILSHIRE STAR ready to earn elusive diploma if able to trip out in finale. Finished just a length behind next out maiden winner Write in Candidate despite racing wide off soft pace last time. FALSE ACCUSATION the logical one to beat having shown improvement since being gelded two back. BOOTLEGGER surely well bred for the going and interesting note she’s owned and was bred by her trainer. Must give much respect to homebred launching career in this relatively weak spot.
