BEST BET: RACE 6, HEAVEN IS FOR REAL

FIRST RACE

EXPONENTIALLY can trip out best if the 3, 5, and 6 all show speed. A good post to track said leaders yet give Barton the inside/outside option turning for home. This gelding is often best when able to settle early and kick late. HAWKEYE GOLD is another that can pass horses and figures a good trip from the inside. Simply take the better price of the inside two? We can’t fault that. COUGAR COUNTRY has speed but has passed a runner before. Diodoro runner will get a lot of play as usual.

SECOND RACE

VAN HAGAR stretched out to two turns two back and won with something left. First time winners is often tough so connections make it even more so with a two turf turf start where this guy did little. His turf breeding isn’t good so that looks like a prep to us. A better post today than maiden breaker when stuck in the 10 hole. TOUGH EMBLEM has solid figs of late and was facing better not that long ago. Second time with new barn and a jock switch tell us one more chance. LEARTES is a new route horse. He is often a good price.

THIRD RACE

SURFLINER is the value. Short break was needed and now he goes third off the layoff. He is a proven double nickel claimer on the weeds and that is better than this condition. Don’t forget that these turf horses often take turns beating each other. WHICH MARKET is feeling great for the top barn. Another step forward can’t be ruled out. TEDDY THE BEAR is the inside speed that also draws the rail. If feeling good, he can hold on. HASHTAG BAE is by a 7% debut turf sire. His dam went 2-0-0-0 on the green. One of three sibs won on the grass with another hitting the board.

FOURTH RACE

JILAS LIL SWING comes in fresh and might show some speed. Works are well spaced and we think the big favorite is vulnerable. BARROOM PRINCESS has some tactical speed and just ran a Beyer top off the layoff. A small step forward could make her an exacta player. PORT ELIZABETH is the one to beat off most recent when first time on this dirt. We think her price plummets more than is warranted in this spot. Race flow is soft. TAO is by a 1 for 7 debut sire. Her dam went 8-3-0-1 for 26K. Lone sib is 17-2-3-2 for 18K. LIKELY STORY is by a 12% debut sire. Her dam went 3-0-0-0 and this is her first foal.

FIFTH RACE

FRENCH GENERAL gets great race flow if he can pass runners. Didn’t he learn to do just that in his most recent? Second time Morales can’t hurt. The other option is to gun and face pace pressure from the inside and out. Who could possibly want that spot? HAILED OUT did win only two back. He never got a breather last out when trying two turns on the grass. Cut back would seem ideal if this gelding can relax off all the speed. DMAN DOUGHTY comes in fresh for the top barn. Vergara rode BIG TUFFF Z to an EZ win last out but remains here.

SIXTH RACE

HEAVEN IS FOR REAL popped and stopped previously but she was coming off a medium layoff. Notice that she got some play in her debut and then took some time off as if something went awry. We don’t see many T-breds from the Fales barn but pay attention when we do. We think this filly can find the front end and forget to stop. URSULAS NITE WATCH ran well in her debut and figures more mature now than last November. MAE BE SPECIAL beat over half the field home in her debut and has every right to improve second time out. A small class drop can’t hurt. SNOOZE ALARM is by a 6% debut sire. Her dam went 9-2-1-1 for 9K. Lone sib is 5-0-0-0. SEEKING PERFECTION is a player even if she missed a month of works (nothing in February).

SEVENTH RACE

CAVA KAVIA doesn’t face very much first and foremost. Current form is fine and he is more than comfortable on the grass. Where is the speed in here? Maybe this guy? PASSED DUE got a 54 and 65 Beyer Speed Figures when last seen on the

grass. Against these, that fits. Recent dirt figs are better than most. Cross entered for Tuesday.

ANGEL DE AMOUR is another that is cross entered for Tuesday. This gelding has won 7 times on this sod. Race flow works against this deep closer. GRAY FLYER is by a 7% debut turf sire. His dam went 2-0-0-0 on the sod. All three sibs failed to win on the grass. CEDERBERG is by a 1 for 10 debut turf sire. His dam never tried the green. Lone grass sib missed the board in lone turf try.

EIGHTH RACE

DIAMOND MAN needed a break and got one. Lots and lots of works during his time off. This is his best distance and he figures a good price. OUTLAW BY NATURE is better of late and just won at almost 9-1. He doesn’t need the front end to run well. GEE FORCE is feeling good. That was a big try two back. The jock switch is interesting. BROWNTOWN JOY will take a lot of cash as usual.
