BEST BET: RACE 1, POLICY PORTFOLIO

FIRST RACE

POLICY PORTFOLIO, the day’s best, show good speed chasing wire to wire winner through fast splits under similar conditions earlier this month, gets a new pilot and looks loose on the lead in this spot if hustled away from the outset. Should not look back. AXTELL lost all chance at the start stretching around two turns last out, should come running best of all shortening up to what appears his m ost effective distance. ARIDAIOS has been away but training steadily for return while returning to preferred surface today.

SECOND RACE

MY JOHNNY BE GOOD finished third behind Starship Apollo, who turned in career best effort beating same kind on 3/11. In new hands via claim box but still one to catch if able to clear off as expected from inside. BOLD SUMMIT used to have the speed to run with top one but has not shown that same zip in last several starts. Could wake up at a little price if away running to dog top choice from the outset. JACK WEST had little excuse when trying open company for first time two weeks earlier but will give another chance if able to repeat N3L winning effort from 2/9.

THIRD RACE

LEOPARD CAT finished well into a slow pace when second best behind loose on the lead winner dropping for a tag in 3yo bow. Also -ran AB G Maestro has already returned to win out of the race. Need only repeat try to earn his diploma in this spot. GOLDEN DECISION plunges from MSW to selling ranks getting enough class relief to respect getting Lasix on, blinkers off here. ZAPTUIT continues to improve with every start, lacked room trying to launch bid in last.

FOURTH RACE

UNCLE GUY will need some help with the pace, as always, but love the fact he ran so well over a sloppy track last time after well graded turf tally three weeks earlier. Gets the nod in present form. GLOBAL ENTRY another peaking of late and obvi- ously very fond of the local course. Benefitted from perfect trip last time, might get similar set up from inside again today. STOCKYARD a game winner off slow pace on 3/2, figures to see a little quicker pace today with Taste for Talent likely to extend Fire On Fire through early stages.

FIFTH RACE

CHARLIE THE GREEK ran extremely well behind Always Dreaming going nine furlongs in his last, returned with big work, eligible to avenge earlier setbacks by Chatiment and EPIC DRAMA earlier this winter in his current form. Epic D maintaining his good form of late, may prove one to fear. E Z’S MISTRESS gets a little class relief off last couple, ran too good on 1/27 at 6 1/2 panels to ignore in this spot.

SIXTH RACE

NORTHEAST BOUND has proven game winner of last pair, beat similar if not slightly better open company last out, can be along again with any help up front. GOLDEN POINT been freshened since earning high marks defeating N3L foes off a perfect trip on 1/27, faces tougher but obviously cycling back to peak form at present time. GINGER GOOSE stalked soft pace, weakened late but capable of grabbing minor share with these.

SEVENTH RACE

Like the looks of firsters GREAT KAHUNA and KROY in this MSW on turf, the former by Smart Strike and with some promising looking inner works on his resume’ earlier this winter at PM. Kroy by The Factor out of a mare who had good career on the lawn, appears to be well prepared for bow on both turf and dirt up above. HAPPY WANDERER has an experience edge on top two while finally getting a chance to stretch out off series of 5F tries. May ultimately prove one to catch if avoiding early conflice with That Charlie.

EIGHTH RACE

GOLD SHARK ran well in defeat with this same kind on 1/25, idle ever since, but with series of decent works under his belt prepping for return. May not look back. MAJESTIC ENDEAVOR the question mark here, a $250K yearling purchase who suddenly showed up under a $25K tag after being eased in the slop four weeks earlier. Do note some gaps in published works earlier this winter. Tough call. THREE STAR STONE no match for top choice on 1/20 but with plenty of minor awards to his credit, hard to leave off the ticket somewhere.

NINTH RACE

Workout report a bit spotty for KINSLEY KISSES return but she holds such a class edge on this bunch it’s hard not to see her back in the winner’s circle despite the long layoff. SAVINGTIME second best with this same kind two back, looks capable of picking up the pieces once again in this compact lineup. MISS AWAY the lone four time winner in the field but another questionmark having been away since 1/22 and doing all her training on the farm.

TENTH RACE

Take away her disappointing try in the Claiming Crown and CLASS AND CASH has won three in a row against as good as if not even a touch better than these. Hard to catch if allowed to relax on top again. ROYAL BLESSING turned in huge effort running down a tough one in Eminent Force beating same kind earlier this month but at the mercy of the pace scenario once again. SPORTSCASTER no match late for Royal B in their previous meeting but ran well enough to toss in this mix with a trip.

ELEVENTH RACE

MORE ALEX a bit suspicious on the drop to this level off big try on 2/23, an effort flattered further when 3rd finisher Aqua Teen returned to beat same kind next out. Barn has been ice cold this winter, perhaps just looking for a way to get back on winning track. STARSHIP DANNY looks like a potential sleeper stretching out off improved showing despite trouble last time. Broke slow from tough post in only previously two turn outing on grass, might be able to steal this one on the stretch at a square price if allowed to come away running from the rail. MOJO RISING fits here at his best although off a disappointing outing last time.
