BEST BET: RACE 6, MR. GREEN GIRL FIRST RACE

CAPE RACE is a turf sprint specialist and this is a turf sprint. This guy has only tried this sod once but that was a while ago and he did finish third. If able to bring his A game, pace won’t matter. He can certainly fire fresh alas his price won’t be much to write home about. BOLD EMBRACE has won going short on the green and ends up in a barn that is an incredible 44% off the claim. Double layoff lines and her ending up here are the knocks along with facing the boys. GOING COUNTRY is by a 12% debut turf sire. His dam never tried the green. Lone sib never tried the weeds either. This gelding has some speed and might like the grass.

SECOND RACE

U. S. STERLING just figures unless he bounces off most recent seven panel try. Form cycle hints at better as this guy goes third off the layoff. Races are well spaced and this Florida bred doesn’t have to beat much. Main knock is taking a low price at this level? Some say these cheap races are more prone to winning favorites but we think it depends on the circuit. BELLEOFTHEBAYOU is a grinder so we thought he would like 6 1/2 furlong previously. Hated the slop? Six furlongs today and he might get a pace battle up front. SHUFFLER’SLASTCARD ran OK for a half mile off the layoff but then spit the bit. Was seven furlongs a tad tough off a layoff? Tactical speed we guess.

THIRD RACE

FLY INTO MISCHIEF might be a new route horse. Turf tries two and three back weren’t very good but she was going short versus fudgy foes. She is bred to like the grass and deserves a shot going two turns on said surface. PLATINUM KITTY has a few tries last summer that fit here. That turf try two back would win this if duplicated. Eramia lands here and for many that alone will be enough. PRIDE AND GIOIA ran evenly on this is grass in her last few. The blinkers go ON in the hopes that she can take a step forward. A 2% turf barn calls the shots. MISS MISSISSIPPI is by a 10% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the green. This is dam’s first grass foal. TONI’S VOW is by a 12% debut turf sire. Her dam went 3-0-0-1 on the green for 12K. Lone grass sib is 3-1-0-0 for 16K.

FOURTH RACE

SO SILLY LILLIE is a horse for course that finds an easy spot. She has speed and the rail which should make for a good trip. To tell the truth, she could break from anywhere and get a good trip. Hello favorite. BIZZARRINI gets a new jockey for this in Rosier. Off the pace runner needs someone to soften up the chalk or he will be running for the place. PARADE ME has some speed and comes in fresh. She has passed a runner before though. First time this dirt and she does draw outside main pace rival if front end is tried. She worked a bullet not that long ago.

FIFTH RACE

PURE BINGO is a new turf horse. Those Sam Houston turf fields are often rock solid. Nothing wrong with his most recent and now he goes second time this turf with a good shot to improve a tad. ZARBS SAMBA DANCER has speed which he used quite nicely only two back on this sod when finishing second at 60-1. His most recent wasn’t very good as he beat zero home but it was washed off the grass. A new turf horse before everyone knows it? I DON’T FLY COACH will be coming late. Race flow isn’t the best though. He should be a decent price at least.

SIXTH RACE

MR. GREEN GIRL gets to save all the early ground, wants to pass runners, and gets good race flow. Is that it? He has won on this dirt before and is often a good price. BLAKE THE GREAT is another off the pace runner. Double digits in his last four starts and that figures to carry over some today. Is the track playing towards closers? If so, bet early and often. TERRE NOIRE is speed with other speed. Speed to the inside and out is trouble. Best shot is if someone is tardy and this guy breaks sharp.

SEVENTH RACE

BANNISTER GREEN is a proven grass runner that was washed off the green last out. Why did she run? She needed a race whether turf or dirt. Race flow is fine and we like that this mare gets a weight break with Guerrero up. Now for the bad news: an 0 for 28 turf barn and an 8YO that is making only her sixth start. Insist on a great price. CATTY KRYS has tactical speed to help with the trip. That
