ANALYSIS
BEST BET: RACE 9, JALEN HURTS
FIRST RACE
AUGUST LILLY is accustomed to routing, not sprinting five eighths on the lawn, but seems to hold a class edge and being fresh should have the speed to keep up; blinkers off. REVOLVER SESSIONS had a troubled trip when a close fifth most recently, which had followed some seconds on the Poly at Turfway; at her best at five furlongs at Gulfstream on the turf. HISTRIONIC bombed last out in the slop in a race moved off the grass, but had previously been a close sixth after a layoff against competition similar to what she faces here.
SECOND RACE
WEEKEND MISCHIEF and RIGHT ON have the benefit of experience over the first timers in this 2-yearold dash; slightly prefer WEEKEND MISCHIEF, who is by an elite Kentucky sire, Into Mischief, and racing for a barn that does well with early-season babies. RIGHT ON fits too, and certainly ran well in setting the pace before fading to third first out; only cost $25,000 at auction this year. ASSUME CONTROL is a Mark Casse-trained first timer with a nice pedigree and promising works.
THIRD RACE
BANCO DINERO takes an important class drop from the starter ranks into this conditioned claimer; romped the last time he raced on dirt in a conditioned claimer three starts ago. REMARKABLE TALE hasn’t started since being claimed May 20 and shows just one slow work since, but fits if he maintains the form he displayed in the spring. GETAWAY CAR is another that hasn’t seen action since May 20 and also has just a single work since in his past performances, but he has been competitive at times in low-end conditioned spots like this one and can threaten with his best.
FOURTH RACE
NEVER BURN A COPY, second in two of his last three starts, both at this maiden $12,500 level, holds a form edge, though optimism is curbed by his 0-for-16 record. COUSIN TINO has hit the board 5 times from 13 starts but has not done so over his last three races; Zayas being up is a plus. PADRE adds blinkers and is dropped in class after going unplaced in five starts.
FIFTH RACE
Making her third start of the year, RECENTTRANSACTIONS looks poised for a winning performance after a third and a second vs. similar opposition. FEDERICA has gone unplaced in two starts since graduating from the maiden ranks in her fourth race but packs a strong stretch punch and might challenge late; bullet three-furlong work July 11. SASSY SIERRA was dull in her latest in finishing a well-beaten sixth but was previously competitive in $6,250 claimers like this one.
SIXTH RACE
Draw a line thru the last race of SISTER DRAMA, who competed in the slop last out in a contest taken off the turf. Throw that race out sand she had previously been second in a blanket finish for the place against maiden $35,000 claimers like these. LOVIN EMPIRE looks like a filly that might have been claimed for eventual use as a brood-
