BEST BET: RACE 1, MISS MO MENTUM

FIRST RACE

MISS MO MENTUM, the day’s best, may actually be better on dirt than turf after winning as much the best in off the turf allowance race in Ky. finale, need only repeat the effort to earn first set of stakes brackets. MY FAVORITE GIFT turned in huge effort in off the turf debut at GPW but obviously facing far tougher company the second time around. Would likely be the beneficiary if forecasted rains turn track to slop for her once again. ALLIYA’S STORY rallied from far back to win a key race by open lengths while showing big improvement with the addition of blinkers but obviously taking big jump in class herself today.

SECOND RACE

The forecast for wet weather could put the status of this race in jeopardy although turf or dirt, STAINLESS may prove the one to beat. Turned in huge effort in defeat in her only previous try on grass, a soft course to boot, when second best behind Breeders’ Cup winner Rushing Fall in the Jessamine, may have run a better race than it seems on paper when caught on dead rail in the Juvenile Fillies. FILFILA showed big improved at second asking after catching Rushing Fall and a key race in her bow. One to fear with another forward move. MY MASTERPIECE much improved since switching to turf, looked good working over course here last weekend.

THIRD RACE

MOJOVATION working well for his return after being freshened following unlucky start in the Futurity. Must avoid potential duel with Aequor. EMPIRE POWER no match for Pletcher’s Colt and mississippi and should benefit from turn back to six furlongs. Has benefit of a win over the strip. MADARNAS might come running late for minor share.

FOURTH RACE

FLORIDA FUEGO showed huge potential when unveiled here this summer taking no prisoners at first asking, among her victims recent Alcibides winner Heavenly Love. Seems to be coming around in the a.m. prepping for return, could spring the upset if able to repeat debut try. COURAGEOUS QUEEN a two time SW and graded SP, owns an experience edge over her chief rivals and well posted to get a nice stalking trip on the outside. TAKE CHARGE PAULA hard to fault off well graded maiden win last month in New York and seems to be holding her own in the morning with graded SW Bal Harbor. An obvious factor albeit at what figures to be a very short price.

FIFTH RACE

BAL HARBOUR freshened since becoming a SW at this distance in September but recent works all good, has the speed to race forwardly throughout with these. STRONGER overmatched in the Champagne but with a win over the course and seems to be flourishing with the addition of blinkers. Upset threat. COLT AND MISSISSIPPI has won 2 of 3, both at seven furlongs and probably better suited to this one turn mile than the two turns at Monmouth.

SIXTH RACE

MARAUD raced a bit greenly, encountered trouble when a good third making graded stakes bow in the Pilgrim, should improve with that race under his belt. Hard to look past if this one stays on the grass. PONT DU GARD second best behind stakes placed Tap Daddy over yielding course in

CD finale, seems to be improving with every start.

STREET COPPER looks like the controling speed in this one, might surprise if able to relax long enough on the stretch. SEVENTH RACE LADY VALERY had her 7 race win streak snapped by the boys including a couple of members of the field in today’s main event, the Clasico del Caribe, now back with her own kind today. Gets Lasix for the first time and should sit a nice trip behind the speed of arch rivals ESPLENDOROSA and SANJUANERA.

EIGHTH RACE

IGOR red hot at the present time and coming off a very impressive looking local breeze on 11/22 when galloping out with great energy a long way past the wire. GRAN WILL exits a pair of Group 1 wins back home including a victory over potential El Caribe favorite El Cubita over a muddy track on 10/29. ARQUITECTO looked very sharp working here on 11/11 and has finished first or second in each of his last dozen starts but with only one race under his belt since winning this event a year ago.

NINTH RACE

CROTONE in peak form, worked well locally last weekend and getting Lasix for local bow. Looks hard to deny at a short price in this spot. ATENEA has been overmatched locally but working well, might find this company more to her liking at a price. FORZE MAU perfect in two starts and obviously fond of the wet track he might encounter today. Could be a good one.

TENTH RACE

MISHEGAS returned quick dividends off the claim winning a Group 1, this distance, in July and held own with a pretty solid bunch of starter horses returning to U S last month at GPW. Looks too good for these in present form. TORNIQUETTE impressive in a couple of local drills and another in top form at the present time. Distance the main question here. GOLDEN DIAMOND no match for preferred choice in their last couple of encounters but training lights out since those meetings. Worth tossing in at big balloons.

ELEVENTH RACE

EL CUBITA still eligible for first level allowance condition but hard to fault off his last pair when second best behind older horses in native Venezuela. Back with straight 3yos today and exiting a very impressive looking work here last weekend.

JOYME another who impressed since shipping locally. Taking a big step up against the boys but tossed in at a square price at her best. GATILLO off his best form of late but worked well over a muddy strip here on 11/24, gets Lasix, another who might wake up if working out a trip.
