BEST BET: RACE 8, LAST KISS

FIRST RACE

Assuming the turf will be open for action today. CASHLESS SOCIETY a new face to the category and shows up with blinkers on for the first time. Flashed big speed over P M lawn on Dec. 1, should be quick enough to stalk leaders, assert her class in opener. MEANT TOBE MINE chased wire to wire drop down winner trying N3L’s for the first time in ‘17 finale and not likely facing that kind today. One to beat in current form. MOJO’S QUEEN in new hands off the claim but didn’t have much excuse when fifth of a dozen under similar conditions last time.

SECOND RACE

MACHO BLUE brought far more at the sale than he’ll run for in his debut but works say he should be quick enough to best this soft bunch off the bench. Kin to SW Crafty Blue Cat and SP Pyrite Blue. LITTLE PLUMBER gets additional class relief and a new pilot for 3yo bow, one to catch again. ADMIRABLE KISS drops well below price he was claimed for in career bow but that’s common for this O/T combo. More concerned by the fact he only shows one published work since that race on 10/27 and none of the past 39 days.

THIRD RACE

MISS MUNNINGS a very consistent sort from a Beyer standpoint and coming off a sharp showing behind Chad Brown’s odds on Wage Acceleration in 4yo finale. Just a question of whether she can repeat the effort bouncing back on just two weeks rest. FAST MAMA dons shades off a career best showing last time in N Y although against a bit softer than she faces returning locally for first time since career bow. SHE’S ALWAYS READY likely to be ridden a lot more aggressively by Saez than in her last start at Laurel when never getting a sniff of the lead. Might get brave at big price if able to relax on top as expected.

FOURTH RACE

BATTLE TALE finished 5th of 14 from tough post in the Claiming Crown Glass Slipper, back to more suitable spot today. Has won two of four over the strip, should get good trip stalking the inside speed of MOONSHINE PROMISE and Glorious Moment. The former beaten less than a length for second money in the Glass Slipper but likely to get tested early by Glorious M. Still one to fear with Irad taking call. AMALUNA also exits Glass Slipper when losing all chance after appearing to be held in the gate and breaking behind field. Pace dependent but likely to catch honest splits up front for hot barn. Can be along if things really perculate up top.

FIFTH RACE

TENKOZ has been used as a bit of a punching bag in recent works for highly regard 3yo mate Tiz Mischief but has some speed and could be dangerous dropping for this price if taking to the grass. BLUE CHIP PROSPECT stuck in second gear at the present time and another who must prove he can handle the lawn. SCRIBE likely to get plenty of action debuting for Ward barn with a bullet in the holster although mare has yet to throw a winner on the surface. Rider of the Blue debuts for tag far below his purchase price at the sales and just average looking in two local main track breezes.

SIXTH RACE

VISIONARY RULER well spotted vs. conditioned claimers after holding own vs. faster, open $25K company here last month. One to beat if able to avoid early conflict with the other speed types in lineup. BORDINI ran a very credible fourth against strong bunch of N3L’s making local bow 10 days ago, dangerous if able to repeat that kind of effort on relatively short rest. IZZY THE WARRIOR

returns to a track he handled extremely well here last winter and reuniting with Saez today. Looked good in most recent a.m. trial.

SEVENTH RACE

FOR THE GIPPER and FLORIDA COTTON finished less than 2 lengths apart when facing one another here last spring with former getting nod to reverse the decision for white hot connections at the present time. Florida Cotton comes off much needed outing trying two turns on turf after a six month hiatus following near miss in last main track run. Winner of that race recently finished 3rd here vs. N3L $30K claimers. RIDE ON FAITH another returning to the main, shortening up in distance but a beaten favorite for this take in each of his last two tries.

EIGHTH RACE

LAST KISS, the day’s best, well spotted returning vs. conditions claimers for first time win winning off by nearly 5 lengths against N2L company here this summer. Earned career best Fig on dirt despite taking good run at Pletcher’s loose on lead winner in latest. Should trip out chasing speed of TIUNA and MURRAY’S GIRL, the survivor of that likely battle expected to be the one to catch at the end.

NINTH RACE

MISS ALIPHANT showed huge promise in the a.m. last summer at Saratoga but a disappointing in two main track outings now switches to turf, comes up tagged and getting blinks for 3yo bow. Out of a G1 dirt winner but a dam who banked nearly $150K on turf during her racing career. LA PIU BELLA could prove one to beat debuting for potent connections and a daughter of above average turf sire More Than Ready. Working bullets on grass for her bow. CLOSE THE DEAL logical off decent try, this distance and tag, last out across town and must like the fact Irad gets the call. Figures forwardly from the rail.

TENTH RACE

DRIVEN BY THUNDER re-claimed by Repoli/ Pletcher with a return to turf likely in mind. Chased Pioneer Spirit, finished a decent 4th when last seeing this surface during the summer at Saratoga, that rival going on to earn nearly $160K on the year. Facing no such opposition in this restricted field of Fla breds. THORISTIC hard to fault in current form, looks well spotted with state breds to take another with a trip from inside. MAI TY ONE ON showed a new dimension taking back, running on late for second money behind N Y invading Tipsy Kitten while earning career best mark on grass. Switches to top turf rider, should come running late for major share again.
