BEST BET: RACE 1, QUEEN KATE

FIRST RACE

QUEEN KATE moves back into the claiming ranks off a good effort against starter foes and note the last time she ran for a tag she was a clear winner. TITFORTAT has speed and a post that might give Gazader options. She also could be sitting on a peak race in her third start off the layoff. DO IT has seen steeper, while another chief contender is LIAM’S WORLD.

SECOND RACE

MORE MONIQUE ran well against maiden allowance foes in her seasonal debut last out and note the start was her first since October. She would seem to have reason to move forward in her second race back and she also owns what ranks as this field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. CLARISTA has class appeal as one who has run well against steeper. MISS D IRISH showed speed against similar last out and the start was her first race since November. Like that she was favored off the bench.

THIRD RACE

SPEEDY FELLAR split the field in a productive race last out as the runner-up returned in his next start to capture a high-end optional claimer for 3-yearolds and could see stakes action next. In addition, the winner of the race SPEEDY FELLAR exits is a well-bred sort as a half-brother to millionaire Alternation. SIDNEY’S RANSOM exits same race as top choice. MIDNIGHT RUN is appealing as a twotime winner facing some less-experienced rivals. This one has been racing in California.

FOURTH RACE

PRETTY GREELEY is appealing from a class standpoint as one who has seen steeper. She also has reason to move forward here in what will be her second start since November. MISS AZUL owns a series of competitive Beyer Figures, while CHEVY TO THE LEVY is back in the conditioned claiming ranks after facing starter foes. Another of interest is GOT MOXIE.

FIFTH RACE

ELECTRIC COWGIRL and CHEYENNE BLUES are both back in the claiming ranks after facing starter allowance foes in their most recent outs. ELECTRIC COWGIRL owns the field’s co-highest last-race Beyer Figure, while CHEYENNE BLUES is appealing as an 11-time winner. COMPOSE moves back to two turns for the first time in a while and there are route influences in her pedigree.

SIXTH RACE

GUSKA MON SHOES is an eight-time winner who was edged by steeper last out. The race was his first since August. MEANBONE also ran a big race off the bench last out, when beaten a half-length against open foes in his first race since September. He’s now back with statebreds. MR ARK ran a good fourth in same open company race as MEANBONE.

SEVENTH RACE

BROOKLYN BITES was a promising second in her debut last out, when she showed the way to the later stages at Fair Grounds. For the effort she earned what ranks as this field’s best career Beyer Figure. PEKENA JAGUAR and SHE HAS RISEN both have an age edge on the 3-year-old BROOKLYN BITES.

EIGHTH RACE

PRIZED BOURBON was second to a quality kind of winner last out in what was this one’s first race since December. PRIZED BOURBON has the speed to hold her position from the rail. DUSTEM CAROLINA is a 10-time winner facing some less-experienced rivals. She also has been effective from off the pace and might get an ideal setup behind a handful of these. VILARO was third last out to a quality kind of winner and the start was this one’s first since November.

NINTH RACE

WACO BODENE shortens up some to a mile and both of his wins have come at the distance. SABBATARIAN exits same race as top choice and figures to be making his case in the later stages judging from his running style. NIGHT SPREE is a consistent sort with competitive Beyer Figures while another of interest is TEXAS JAMBALAYA.
