BEST BET: RACE 5, ISMUSBEMYLUCKYDAY

FIRST RACE

BIG BAD BATMAN was buried on the rail in his most recent and that is not the place to be at 6 1/2 or 7 panels. It is no suprise that this gelding didn’t get a very good trip. Class dip and jockey switch looks like the money run to us. JONWAINS JUSTICE ran OK in his last two sprints. Either he didn’t like two turns two back or a non fast strip. He gets away from the rail and figures a solid price. PAR T ROCKET has some speed. PAR T ROCKET used to have some speed? Those tries 4 and 5 back were decent. Maybe new jock can entice some zip from this gelding. There just isn’t much pace in this race.

SECOND RACE

There is more than a little speed in here and that means a good trip for SIERRITA. She certainly likes this distance at 11-4-3-1. Big question is what happened in her most recent where she got a contested pace to chase but just didn’t fire. Second time with new barn can’t hurt while recent work was second best of twenty-four. STORM STALKER makes her local debut for team Ortiz and they are 35% with their new runners. This mare should sit a nice trip. Works are near perfect. SURF KITTEN has never run a bad one. She won’t get an early breather in this one though. She did pass runners in her debut so maybe she can stalk? Her upside is better than all and you get a 20% barn in your corner (Debbie O’Brien).

THIRD RACE

ONE HOT NAVIGATOR has never cared for the grass so let’s forget her most recent. She gets back to what she does best and that is a dirt sprint. The big class drop is impossible to miss. We like that she has worked twice since her most recent. RUBY’S GONE AGAIN did get a 55 Beyer Speed Figure in her debut. Recent tries on this dirt were solid and notice that she was stuck on the rail in both of them. Even her form cycle hints at better. MISS TIZZY FIT tried two tuns for the first time last out and ran well. That was also a Beyer top. Mawing and Doug Oliver are 31% together. Lack of sprint speed might hurt a bit in this spot.

FOURTH RACE

SHEZAMOVER is an 8YO that did little in her two return races. Good, it helps today’s price. Jock switch along with turf and two turns could bring about an upset. This mare ran a Beyer top when last seen on this sod even if it was back in 2016. C J KNOWS BEST is bred to love the grass. She won when last seen on this sod. Class jump helps price. Quick turnaround is a 40% move for this barn (2 for 5). SUMMER LADY is the X factor. She faced tons better in SoCal and has hit the exacta in 7 of 17 grass tries. It is nice to see local works but the class drop is still scary.

FIFTH RACE

ISMUSBEMYLUCKYDAY should find the front end here and laugh all the way to the bank. Form cycle hints at better and he has a recent work. This gelding was facing better at Reminton not that long ago. DOMINO JOHNSON has some tactical speed and maybe he gets first run on our top pick. Was 9 furlongs a tad far last out? That win two back would fit nicely here. MINISTER VIVENDI is in good form. Local tab is a bit unlucky but still solid. A new jockey is noted.

SIXTH RACE

BAROQUE is the fresh face from NoCal.. Race flow is just fast as long as the 4 and 5 stay in. Team Silva is 23% with their new runners. Lots and lots of local works to have this hard trier ready. PERCY FAWCETT is the other Silva runner. We like the jock switch to Hernandez (25% with this barn). This stalker gets to save all the early ground. L ‘S CHOICE gets in light and should get a good trip. Connections want tougher first off the claim. Recent work was sharp and maybe that is why connections enter here. They are 22% off the claim. The knock would be that Werner and Toye have yet to win together.

SEVENTH RACE

GINS AND GIGGLES ran OK off the medium layoff and has every right to improve in this spot. The Barraza barn is 25% on the grass and show a flat bet profit. Added distance is another plus as it tells us connections have this gelding just where they want him. ESCALATE catches a race light on pace. He draws inside and did clear off only two back. Maybe Stevens can ration this guy’s speed better? He rode this guy four back and lost by less than
