BEST BET: RACE 2, FORTY FATHOMS

FIRST RACE

RICHIE’S SISTER hard used contesting fast pace returning from a one year vacation now drops in company for second start off the layoff. Should be able to secure an easier lead with this bunch. May not look back. FLYING QUEEN a bit of a hanging sort throughout her career but knocking on the door with this kind. Perhaps the right one should top choice falter again.TRUE HEIRESS has found her niche on the turf. Can’t ignore with further improvement.

SECOND RACE

FORTY FATHOMS, the day’s best, not only in super dangerous hands off the claim but likely the quickest of the bunch and capable of getting loose from his outside post. Looks like a deadly combination in this spot. TIME WILL TELL split a pair of next out winners last time, hanging late after making a nice middle run but tough to play with any confidence on top with that 1 for 24 win resume’. DREAMING OF J C won this condition already at Tampa and likely to race a bit more favorably placed this time after turning back to five-eighths in his last.

THIRD RACE

FRENCHMEN STREET back to the turf off sharp showing on dirt and could prove the one to catch if away running from outside. SHINY COPPER PENNY has shown promise on numerous occasions around two turns, might be legged up for successful turn back to 5/8’s. VISIONS OF YOU like Shiny Copper Penny still a maiden after many, many chances but hard to leave out of equation for at least a share.

FOURTH RACE

Most missed the wedding when QUENANE defeated this same kind at 45-1 two back but a repeat of that effort would likely back good enough to win again at a much shorter price today. Continued to hold form when second best behind talented 3yo and recent Carry Back winner War Giant. CHISELED and CHEPSTOW familiar rivals, the former exiting vastly improved showing for hot barn off the claim going 7/8’s last time. Should get plenty of help up front if King Power and Chepstow engage early as expected.

FIFTH RACE

COCO IS LOCO ran well but came out second best when dropped to this level for the first time on 6/9 and a repeat performance probably good enough to get him back on the winning track in evenly matched field. WAKE ME UP AT NOON did not have the best of trips facing better in his latest, drops again, perhaps one to fear. ESCRIBIENTE stays put off the claim, returns to favored surface, could fit with these for new connections.

SIXTH RACE

WELL DEFINED flashed big speed, won for fun in his debut and just might be quick enough to give these the slip in similar fashion. CAJUN EMBERS showed much improvement when able to get outside horses, come running late and likely to move forward from the experience and with added distance. FULLY LOADED ran to his good works and backing defeating promising Pletcher 2yo Social Paranoia in debut and obviously a talented sort although rail draw could prove the issue at what figures to be another short price.

SEVENTH RACE

EILA had used on the lead, succumbed grudgingly when haltered for this tag on May 10 and note huge 1/2 mile work subsequent to that outing for new connections. Should leave running from outside gate. TAYLOR’S IN ORBIT has won last pair at 26-1 and 13-1 and not likely to be double digits

again today but hard to ignore in her present form. Main danger if getting some help up front with preferred choice. COWTOWN JANE another having posted back to back turf sprint victories at generous odds but stepping up with much better here. In a relatively pace less race, PURE BLISS could get loose and brave on the front end while dropping into somewhat softer N3L spot, eligible due to the non-winners of a race since Jan 6 stipulation in the conditions. HELEN VIRGINIA has cycled back to good form and ran well off the claim vs. similar at a mile. Turns back to preferred distance today. A SQUARE TO SPARE perhaps better on turf than dirt but another who figures forwardly placed throughout in this spot.

NINTH RACE

DRINKS ON MAGGIE lost best chance when bumped at the break, failing to show her best speed last time in a race that has already produced a couple of next out winners. Will likely vie for the lead and top prize with LA DUQUESA who is well drawn inside and exiting near miss on drop to this level on 6/22. Has kept busy schedule of late, making 3rd start in 22 days in finale. JEZEBEL JONES one of a couple of new faces in the lineup and the first foal out of a mare who won 4 sprints during her career and by top turf sire Kantharos. Could prove well spotted for early success in bow.
