BEST BET: RACE 6, DIXIE’S GAMBLE

FIRST RACE

CODDIWOMPLE rallied wide from off well slow splits to end up second before galloping out strongly in her six-furlong debut vs. $12.5K maidens. The daughter of stamina sire Giant Gizmo shouldn’t be out of her league in this $20K tilt going seven-eighths, which should be a suitable distance for her. CELTIC RING also made up ground in her debut, when fifth in a five-furlong dash at this price. This live barn has surprisingly weak stats with maiden second-timers. TYPICALLY has had many chances, while placing in seven of 16 outings. She’s descending to a new low off a fade job in a maiden special.

SECOND RACE

THIRTY NINE SEVEN met much tougher in a recent OS allowance/$40K claimer won by Big Mistake, who subsequently ran second in a slow N1X (73 Beyer). She’s dropping to $20K B company while being reunited with Hernandez, who was aboard for both of her spring scores. CONGENIALITY wired $10K NW2 types in a recent five-furlong dash, and could be the controlling speed. COREY’S BEST notched her last start vs. $20K NW2 stock from off the pace Dec. 7. Use her underneath in the exotics, along with MATCHING VOWS.

THIRD RACE

FRESH DREAMS overcame traffic problems to land her Nov. 11 debut from off the pace with ease, but she never fired in an OS N1X 13 days later. She has lots of speed to chase here under Da Silva, and can obviously fire while fresh. ENCHANTED TALE earned a fat 80 Beyer when a front-running second to an unbeaten rival in her June 17 season opener. She figures to be the dominant speed, but seems a bit vulnerable going six and a half furlongs. WILD LUTE came up empty in a recent N1X route. Her previous sprint form was decent, and she should have a say in the outcome.

FOURTH RACE

ASK THE BOSS toppled $10K maidens third-time out a month ago over this seven-furlong distance. The 4yo has worked twice in the interim, and could strike again with her confidence on a high. KHAWLAH saved ground on the turn before closing for second in another $10K NW2 sprint in her second start back. SHEZ A TEN I KNOW has made a habit of filling out the tri, and should be played according in the gimmicks.

FIFTH RACE

SOUTH BEACH SASSY was competitive in each of her first two starts in the fall, but her last two efforts weren’t anything to write home about. Her comeback on the grass is best overlooked, and she’s halving value for a trainer with solid turf/ synth numbers. WRITTEN dueled through fast fractions before fading to third when stretching out in her third race after a freshening June 20. WHILEYOUSLEEPING figures to pick up some of the pieces, and PRODUCE HOPE is exiting a race that contained three next-out winners.

SIXTH RACE

DIXIE’S GAMBLE was an authoritative winner after getting away slowly when debuting over seven furlongs June 9. The 75 Beyer he earned then would probably be good enough to get the job done in this NW2 OS allowance/$40K claimer. ROYAL LASER closed from seven lengths back for second in his six-furlong comeback. The Giant Gizmo colt has worked a half-mile in the interim, and should be dangerous with Da Silva inheriting the mount from Contreras, who’s sticking with the top pick. CAT’S WHISPER has worked well since an improved fourth-place finish in his third race off the shelf. He could hit the ticket as a longshot. The speedy YALLHAVEANICEDAY might hang on for a slice of the pie.

SEVENTH RACE

MARILYNS LAST LOVE could turn the tables on DANZIG RAINBOW in her third race after a long layoff. She worked quickly over the training track last Friday. DANZIG RAINBOW has won three of her four outings at the meet, with that loss coming
